The Official Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven thread

This has to be my most wanted game in a looong time. The original was one of my favorite games of all, with it's creepy, lonely atmosphere and stealthy ninja action. After the lackluster sequel, part 3 seems to get back to the series' roots and could be the best Tenchu yet. Improved graphics, controls, weapons, 2-player modes...this game looks to kick the booty in a big way.

It's due out March 5th, which is just two short weeks away. :)

Tell me some more about this 2 player action Dole. I enjoyed the first one a lot, and this one looks great too except for the pictures I've seen the character models seem to cut into each other. No biggie really, but other than that it looks great. but please fill me in on the 2 player, if its simultaneous mission Im all over this.

Well, there's two seperate 2-player modes- co-op and deathmatch, both split-screen. In co-op you and your friend can sneak through levels, either working together to kill enemies or seperately. There's even dual stealth-kills in this mode, WWE tag-team style. Deathmatch is just what the name implys. There are many different unlockable characters available to choose from in deathmatch mode. Overall, from the screenshots I've seen of the 2-player modes and the previews I've read, it sounds like an amazing addition.

I'll be there, the day it comes out. I have it preordered, otherwise DJ would go Ninja on my ass :p

We both very excited about co-op play addition, and tag like stealth kill moves.

The demo was very good and fun, and proved that T3 is right on track.

If I can find the funds after buying Xenosaga, this and ZOE2 will be at the top of my list...

My only problem with the 2-player deathmatch is the split screen aspect- how can you be stealthy when you can always see where your opponent is? I need to devise some kind of curtain or something that I can put in the middle of the TV screen... :)

My initial disappointment with the demo has mostly faded. I can't wait to play the full game.

My problem with deathmatch is that stealth kills will be impossible thanks to the third person view (at least to my knowledge). No real way around that so I can't hold it against them, it's more just an extra anyway. Coop should be sweet as hell, though.

I just said this up above- my proposed solution was to set up a curtain or maybe a piece of cardboard in the middle of the screen.

Shit, the guy rips people's hearts out. I want to play as him too!

Dolemite: You missed my point: third person view. You have to be at point blank range to stealth kill, which means you'll be on the other persons screen no matter what.

Monks rock. I hope this guy rocks as well. (Even though I'll be tempted to growl out, "Fatality" every time he rips a heart out.)
