Animated gif frenzy...

I know I dismissed my previous request to Korly. but I wasn't aware at this increasing fad taking place on the boards. It's a fun event going on, and I definitely am not posting this to kill that atmosphere. However, I am asking of everyone who's currently or plannning to be involved to restrict the images to one line.

Do not combine animated gifs with other images. Either post a non-static image or animated gifs. Gifs in conjunction with text of course is accepted (but none of these poems and non-sensical stuff I've seen a few posting up now and then. :bang:

I don't mind if you post a few (I'll have some below shortly too. Just please don't get ridiculous. If you really don't need to post that many, then don't.

I don't really know how to say this w/o sounding rude, but I've already asked of everyone to adopt the same parameters. I understand your reasoning, but this isn't a case of awaiting for other members to personally state their opinion on the matter; please cooperate by keeping the images on one line. I am asking you to personally do it instead of using the board empowerment, which I'd much rather not. I don't care what they're doing...as long as they're kept on one line. I don't think that's asking a lot. thank you.

Geez, I never said I wasn't gonna do it. I must not understand what you meant by "one line" because I saw 3 people, in a row standing next to each other. I assumed by that if it was "two lines" there would be one or two guys in a row, and then another guy under them. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

On 800x600 it would wrap to a second line. Maybe that's what he was talking about.

Well I use 1024x768...but that's besides the point. :)

I'm normally above 800x600 too, but I'm forced to use my crappy old laptop until I can get my main PC back up and running. That's how I noticed the wrap.

The only time I'm at 800x600 is when I've got my comp going to my TV (highest it'll support for some reason) but I'm sure as hell not surfing the web on there.

I run 800x600 on a 19 inch monitor because I like how it looks. I'd rather have big text with less screen area than the opposite. I can run 1600x1200 if I want to, but I'm not interested in going blind before I hit 25.

Just because you can't think of anything clever to put in your sig doesn't mean you have to put down those of us who have been partaking in this excellent chance to fight eachother online, and show off our teams with some animated gifs. Get the steppin, there's nothing for you to see here.

Avatars help identify people more quickly and gives a bit of personality to the posts, those without tend to blur together. It's like standing in an auditorium with people but some decide to hang outside and use the phones to call in; disembodied voices just aren't the same.

You can turn off sigs and avatars under Edit Options of your User CP!

So go do it.

you guys gotta remember about page breaks so your text and images aren't on the same line ;)
