Re: Nintendo Collaborations
Tiwak, Adeline, and NanaOnsha? What, did you deliberately go out of your way to think of developers nobody else could relate to? Or would you just like to see how low-budget and niche these little known and highly unproven developers could make a big Nintendo franchise? :p
Anyway, give Earthbound and Paper Mario to Square, please.

... Paper Mario to Square? Okay. Workable.
But ... Earthbound? No... please... no. HAL must make it. With Shigesato Itoi behind the game, 110%.
But to remain on target, I'd like to see Konami make a third-person Metroid game.

A petition was going around a little while back for a new Earthbound. It got something like 30,000 signatures, so it's nothing short of a possibility.
As for Square developing it though...do you really wanna see all those pre-pubescent kids in revealing clothes? :p

What's wrong with Tiwak? Rayman 2 is much better than Donkey Kong 64. I think they'd do a bang up job.
NanaOnSha was a stylistic thing. EB isn't about gameplay, it's about wacky atmosphere and humor, so NanaOnSha seems like a perfect fit. Alot better than Square anyway.
Adeline was out of left feild, I know, I just really liked MRA

Well I actually agree with Tiwak, I'm just saying those are very unknown companies, I doubt most people even have any idea who the actual developer of Rayman 2 was (I didn't!) :p

In recent interviews Miyamoto has expressed an increasing desire to free up more development time to devote to new franchises, leaving Nintendo to loan some of its best series to companies like Treasure, Amusement Vision, and Namco. I have to say, so far Treasure seems like the perfect choice to work with R&D1, and Amusement Vision looks to be taking F-Zero to levels I'm not even sure Nintendo could.
So my question to you is... If Nintendo were to cut back on one of your favorite franchises... who would you like to see take it over?
I know many of you would prefer Nintendo to stick to their own franchises... And you're probably right (I thre a hissy fit over the Capcom Zeldas). But that's no fun to talk about. So assume that nintendo simply has to abandon a franchise in order to make some incredible secret project for the sake of this dicussion.
I think Tiwak could make a Donkey Kong Country game about 10 times better than rare ever could. They know the genre well, and they have a flare for artistic style. I have no doubt they could turn out a new classic with the liscense.
If I had to give Zelda to anyone... while Flagship might be the obvious choice, I think I'd entrust it to Westone. I'm sure they could really take it some place new and exciting.
And after playing Moto Racer Advance, I'd like to see what Adeline could do with Excitebike.
Knami could probably spin a good metroid if they wanted too. Castlevania's not a far cry.
You're going to think I'm nuts, but I'd wager NanaOnSha could turn out a mean Earthbound game as well.
Nintendo has cut back on my favorite franchise: Yoshi. I haven't had a decent yoshi game for a console in years. I'm sure the GBA has got to have had a port or something. Man, I need to get me one of those.
Yoshi is my all time favorite mascot and videogame character altogether.

Anything to do with Donkey Kong. I actually like the DKC games but they don't look like DK should. I think DK should be in the visual style of the early '80's one and the Game Boy one. Is there any new info on that GBA sequel?
I'm totally the opposite. I like the new DK look.

That explains the naked pictures of Andrew I keep getting in the mail. Look, man. I don't dig apes. :p
