Well, There were alot of talk about Director's Cut version of RE to come out by the end of 2002, but now its all quite. I hope that it still be coming out though.
the original release was the "special edition". it wasn't that special if you ask me. and then they released the superbit version in december. with no extras. you get a better picture and better sound, but the trade off is that you get nothing else.
you might have been thinking of the superbit version, IIRC it released about a month after LotR.
There was talk of another version that was going to be released, with cut scenes and gore content. They're working on part 2 so this may have been put on the back burner. I think the director signed up for another videogame based movie iirc.
You know, I was wondering about the Director's Cut last night...I haven't heard a thing about it in ages.
yeah i remembered hearing of alternate endings, more gore, deleted scenes. oh well.....at least we get 8 versions of x-men.....(grumbles at the thought of X 1.5).
They'll probably wait and release it when the sequel is released, if ever.
Rumpy: Paul Anderson is working on/going to be working on an Aliens Vs Preditor movie I think.
Yes, Paul Anderson is busy writing and preparing for Alien VS Predator film. He also will work on RE sequel, but there not much new info on that project lately.
If you listen to the commentary on the RE DVD, they do talk about the sequel a little bit...um , I forgot exactly what they said, however. I know they said thet Nemesis and Alice (Milla Jovovich) will be in the sequel, and I've also heard that Jill Valentine and William Birkin might be, also. The commentary track is pretty amusing, though, but not very informative. At least they all sounded like they were big fans of the RE games before they ever worked on the movie. They also mentioned that the Director's Cut would be coming out at a later date on the commentary as well.
Here's the IMDB's entry for RE: Nemesis: http://us.imdb.com/Title?0318627
Currently the IMDB has no entry for any Aliens Vs. Predator movie. Since they just put any shread of info on a movie on their site, valid or not, I assume that this means that there hasn't been much progress made on it.
Well, IMDB not always very accurate or up to date, on some of movie info. But in case of AVP you right, there arent much known.
