Any real video game sports fans here?

I'm a big baseball fan, but have little to no interest in any other sports (and no, Professional Wrestling does not count!)

As far as sports games, I have played a lot in the past, but nothing as of late. Earl Weaver Baseball from EA for the Amiga has to be on my top ten games of all time. I also enjoyed EA's 16 bit offerings for football and hockey on the Genny, along with some NES baseball offerings (Bases Loaded anyone :D) World Series 98 on the Saturn just plained ruled as well.

I'm looking to pick up one of the latest Baseball offerings this year to give each a shot, but where should I start? Between All Star, World Series and High Heat is what I'm thinking, but I'm curious which series is most realistic out of the three. Game Informer raves about All Star and I've heard others sing the praises of WSB and High Heat at times. Any recommendations?

I have had at least one football and hockey game every year since 1990 and several before that. Does that count?

I like sports games.

I enjoy well-developed sports games. The NBA 2k series is excellent, Madden is great, Tennis 2k2 was awesome, and there are tons of old school sports games that were the bomb. The only baseball game I've ever really liked, however, is the Baseball Simulator series which hasn't had a new game in a LONG, LONG time.

I wouldn't say i'm a huge fan but I play and enjoy the following: Winning Eleven, Power Smash, Beach Spikers and Virtua Striker.

I like watching sports more then playing Sports Video Games. But Multiplayer Hockey games are fantastic to play, just fantastic.

I love sports and sometimes even their video game counterparts. I can't wait for NBA Street Vol. 2

Pro wrestling isn't a sport.

On point - I generally enjoy baseball games, as well as tennis and volleyball. I haven't bought a football, basketball or hockey title since the 16-bit era.

Boxing games are alright by me, as well.

Virtua Tennis/Tennis 2K2 are two of my all-time favorite games. I'm also a pro tennis fan, and play myself (though I'm not very good...yet). A bunch of friends & I get together at least once a month for 2K2 four-player fun, and have done so since the game's release.

I enjoyed the heck out of NBA Street and NBA2K1, and Hot Shots Golf 3 was one of my favorite games of last year. I also highly enjoyed WSB2K2, and am looking forward to 2K3 (old-school unis!). Beach Spikers was cool, but quickly got old for me, and the same goes for Soccer Slam.

Basically, I'll pick up a sports title if it's appealing. I'm doing "research" at the moment for a new NBA sim, but don't like the changes in 2K2 or 2K3, and Inside Drive feels funny.

I've never been interested in (American) football, in reality or simulated.

I will probably pick up Winning Eleven Six, based on reputation alone.

I dig sports games because the replay, for single- and multi-, is basically infinite: you never play the same game twice, if the game is well designed.

I like Joust. It's based on a real sport.

Seriously though, I play sports games on occasion. I tend to prefer the more arcade-ish ones like Tennis 2K2. I never watch sports in real life.
