Because the original Metal Gear sucks. At least the one I played. I'm sure the MSX rev is better but I still doubt it holds a candle to Solid.Quote:

That would rock my shorts. MGS is by far and away the best of the entire series, and to have it redone in XBox graphics with the gameplay of MGS2 (which never let you use said gameplay) would be so incredible it's not funny.
Just throw it onto a touched-up MGS2 engine, and I'd be more than happy.

Bingo. MGS's story with MGS2's graphics and gameplay? Gaming Nirvana.
How exactly is MGS a remake of MG2? Some of the plot elements are similar, but in essence it is it's own story. I think it provides some good background.Quote:

... someone renamed my thread! ... ... hooray! It is a better name!
Switch the names used and the two are fairly interchangable. All major plot twists and story points, level progression, puzzles, setups, characters and so on. The bosses were more idiotic in their design (Coward Duck? The Terminator rip-off?), but the entire progression of the game was exactly the same. It is to MGS was LttP is to OoT: Renamed some stuff and tossed it in 3D.Quote:

Metal Gear GC confirmed by Konami of America
Konami of America recently confirmed on their Official Forums that what Shigeru Miyamoto said in his recent tour of Europe is true: Konami is bringing Metal Gear to the GameCube. According to the post, the game is likely exclusive to GC, but that information is sketchy right now.
What is more interesting is that MGS is like a test for the GameCube and its owners. According to Konami, if the game sells well, more games will hit the console, including, possibly, installments in the Castlevania and Contra series. At this time, this is nothing but a possibility, but if there was anyone who wasn't instantly hooked on the idea of buying another remake, this might be enough to push you over the edge. Konami has always backed the company with the largest userbase, because sales would obviously be higher on that console. If it can be proven that sales on other systems can bring in profits, they may change their policy.
Metal Gear Solid for the GameCube will most likely be unveiled at the Electronics Entertainment Expo this year, between May 14th to the 16th. GAF will be there to report from the show floor, so you can expect full coverage.
interesting
well if its Exclusive to GC what ever it is i hope it sells well cause id like to see Castlevania on the GC
