apparently, i don't have syphilis anymore(Update: Results on pg 5)

Awhile back a I dontated blood for the first time. A week or so later I recieved a letter saying that I had syphilis and could not use my blood. They mentioned something about a "false-positive," so, I may not have it, but blood tests say that I do. F'ed up.

So I went to my doctor Monday to have them do another blood test on me. I just received a call saying that apparently, I do have syphilis. They will do another final in-depth analysis and call me within a few days.

That's f'ed up. As far as I know, the only way you can get syphilis is through sex. And I've yet to have sex with anyone other than myself... I'm confused.

Sores also can occur on the lips and in the mouth. Transmission of the organism occurs during vaginal, anal, or oral sex. Pregnant women with the disease can pass it to the babies they are carrying. Syphilis cannot be spread by toilet seats, door knobs, swimming pools, hot tubs, bath tubs, shared clothing, or eating utensils."

sucks but thats the only other thing i could think of as well.

Right... which would make him a few days old and very near death then. The link I posted said babies from mothers with syphilis are still born or die a few days after birth, so I don't think that'd be what's going on. I'd get another Dr.'s opinion. This is weird.

No kissing, fondling, oral ect.?

My question is, what does the disease do to a person?

If he got it through his mother while in the womb then surely through blood tests while growing up or from symptoms of the disease he would have allready found out....

From my mom? Wouldn't that mean my brothers and sisters have it to? And 19.5 years later? I'm the only one with such results. Argh.
