No More Live for MVC2

Capcom said today that it would release Marvel vs. Capcom 2 this March for the Xbox, but emphasized that the game will not be Xbox Live compatible. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 pits Capcom's popular characters and Marvel's super powered heroes against each other in a variety of fight modes including new innovative matches like three-on-three tag team. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is rated "T" for teen Visit Capcom for further information on the latest installment of this popular console fight game series.

The #Capcom kids are going ape shit over this. Finally, the biggest mistake that the US fighting community ever made has been stopped.

Was it announced as Live-compatible?

This pretty much sucks - MvC2 was one of the few games that may have sold me on Live. Why even bother releasing the game without it?

Yep, IIRC. It's probably still listed on EB and GS websites as being Live.

Not without Live it won't. With Live you had damn near every American MvC2 fan willing to buy the game again (and some who bought an XBox solely for MvC2 Live, according to those who claim as such on SRK), and now... well, who's left? You have an older fighting game available to a whole new audience that doesn't really care with (probably) nothing added. Whee.

Live's the only reason anyone who hasn't bought CvS2 by now (or has) would buy it. So now MvC2 without makes little sense.
