Now it's kind of the opposite...
In the Gulf War, the U.S. went to the aide of an invaded country. In this war, the U.S. doing the invading. Opposition is only natural to the country that wants to start a war, not defend. Going back to an already defeated nation will only make for more negative reaction.
Mexico was already anti-war, the recent comments are nothing new.
