It looks very old school, almost Golden Axe-like. Release in Japan is the 28th of this month. :)

It looks great to me. The GBA could use more beat 'em ups. It's a good genre for portable gaming.
To me it looks like the animation might not be that fluid. I say this because these sprites are very big by GBA's standards and there's not that much memory for them. It also looks like there's a fairly large amount of them on the screen.
Looks pretty good. Just like Golden Axe: Revenge of Death Added. I love that game, and still play it in Modeler sometimes. If they can pull the animation off then I consider me amazed.
It all comes down to how it animates and I hope it isn't choppy.
Seen: Have you seen Gekido Advance? They did some great stuff with those big sprites.
I think it looks pretty nice. Hopefully the animation/gameplay will be on par with the art. :)
What ever happened to Gekido Advance? Did it ever come out? I remeber reading a preview for it but nothing after that.
Looks like a great game to last me through school. Since (I believe this is right) The GBA has no Region, I might as well import it. (IF that statement is incorrect, please ignore the second sentance.)

I thought for a second that this was a port of a GP32 fighter...but no, it looks like it's an original game. It looks quite nice, too...I hope it plays well and is light on the cutscenes.

Yep. It's pretty impressive. Doesn't even play like a GBA game, more like an arcade. It has the same style as Sengoku 3, single level scrolling backgrounds and going from scene to scene instead of scrolling the whole level ala Final Fight, which is not necessarily a good thing. I think that scrolling the entire level with as little interruption as possible is what immerses me in the game.Quote:

On Dancing Sword: I like the large sprites and especially the transparent shadows beneath them although it clearly doesn't happen on every level.. I wonder why. It will be a blast to play on my MiracleRay. :)
I thought someone on the board said Gekido has been done for awhile, just no word on release. Hope it doesn't get sucked into the abyss of low-profile non-licensed GBA games....
