Greatest console boot-up sequence?

Stolen from another thread/poster/forum. Apologies.

I think the US Saturn's intro sequence, with the shards forming into the Saturn logo, owns every other intro out there. It's so good IMO I wish somebody would have made a high-res version of that intro, and sell it, or release it for download, or something along those lines.

I'm also partial to PS2's intro and the high tech-sounding *bleeoop* chime at the end.


Also, what was the first console to ever use boot sequence? I think it was he original Gameboy (with the spectacular descending 'Nintendo' graphics tech demo). I can't say for sure though.

seriously, the saturn intro was pretty slick...i did like the dc boot-up too though...

Not too crazy about the DC bootup, but the jingle sounds nice (albeit low-fi when using a component stereo system).

I am quite fond of both Dreamcast and Saturn's boot up sequence. I don't care much for the other new consoles sequences though.

Other old school style ones that were nice were the NGPC one (nice music) and the classic "SE-GA!" SMS chime. The various different and interesting graphical variations of the Sega boot up that were produced for Genny/MD were really cool too. In fact, Sega should bring that back...

The great thing about this forum is that this is actually the second time this question has been posed.

My vote? Sega CD.

Well, those were software intros, not hardware bootup screens. But I'll let that go for the sake of discussion.

If Sega had applied their marketing campaign to the console and used the kids yelling "DREAM-CAST!" in their Japanese commercials for the DC bootup, then I would say DC had the best.

However, they didn't. So I vote for the NeoGeo Pocket Color.
