Does Gungrave for the ps2 not come with a manual, or did I just happen to pick up a fluke.
I've never known a game to not come with a manual, but lo and behold my copy did not.

Mine came with a manual. Just bought it from Target.

It comes with a manual. Take it back and exchange it for a new one.
A better idea would be to take it back and exchange it for another game.Quote:

A crap game for $15 is still a crap game.Quote:

I've only played to stage 4 or so, but it seems to be worth $15.
I picked it up from Target for $15 as well. Its worth it for $15. Amazing style and ideas are used in this game. But the game is really easy. I don't know how RED let it out the door. I mean its REALLY easy. I died once through the whole game. But its worth it for $15.
I wish there were Target stores in my area.
Gungrave is a stylish, somewhat shallow yet fun arcade-type game. I would definitely pick it up for that price.
Damn, went to Target during lunch, and they're sold out. :( For $50 it's a complete rip-off but $15 is a fair price.
I just don't understand why RED made it so mind numbingly easy. They had to of played it and said, "Hmmmmm its really easy with that Sheild meter." But I guess I am wrong. If they took out the sheild the game would be MUCH harder.
Because it's hard as hell to chain together every single enemy in an area while never losing any life. The best place to chain and build points is often right in the middle of a pack of enemies, but that's also where enough chip damage occurs that the shield can be easily destroyed.Quote:

If you're only playing it to beat it, then yes it is easy as hell. But that's not the point of the game.
Same goes for Halo.Quote:

It was worth 50$ for me, great game.
But why the hell didn't I unlock the video archive when I got all A rank(25+ on every single one)? If its all S rank then I'm giving up.
I'm on level 4 now, and this game is Shinobi all over again, or the other way around, what ever. I wish Grave was faster, more agile. I see that all the complaints people have with this game are valid. Another cool character wasted in an average game.
I still think it's cool though, the style is very nice, well worth $15, but like others have said, this game is not worth more than $20.
Unlike Shinobi, this game is interesting enough to play through completion.
Picked it up and am getting more and more tempted to track down a PS2 :) .
Smart move on Sega's part to put out some budget priced titles, for $15 this game's style may win people over despite the ease of completion. Now they should release REZ for $15 at Target. *-neo
They didn't put it out for a budget price; they were clogging up Target's warehouses because nobody was buying it at full price, or even $30. Same goes for this week's Sega deals at Best Buy (Beach Spikers & Home Run King for $10).
Yeah, Gungrave's not that great, but it's a warranted purchase for me as Yasuhiro Nightow is one of my favorite character designers.
If you're only playing it to beat it, that is. However, if you play it to kill every single enemy in the game only using melee attacks, it becomes much more difficult and rewarding.Quote:

Shit. I hope Target has some left by friday(payday)...
I love that game. Sure, it's short, but it's very fun....I still have to beat it on hard so i can unlock all those action figures....
Sure is. I'll bet you're disappointed that Bungie didn't design Halo that way whereas Gungrave actually was designed around score, huh?Quote:

My Target had like 20 copies left Sunday and the only one I've seen sold since we got them in (last week, and I'm always in electronics) is the one I bought myself.Quote:

I'd say it's more like, the market has too many games to choose from. It's great that the PS2 has such a large library of games, but an average game can get lost really fast, in a sea of mediocre titles.
If any one wants to hook me up with an mp3 of "Here Comes the Rain", I'll love you long time.
Great song. Best in a video game for a while now.Quote:

Okay, I just beat the game, and what I want to know is, what the fuck was the deal with that last level? Ugh, I hate it when games, anime, whatever suddenly skews into esoteric bizzare bullshit for no reason.
Maybe I'm just whacked out, because I know absolutely nobody agrees with me(thus the awful sales) but I consider Gungrave a better than average video game. At least, for the things I like, i consider it a very good game. *feel free to throw things at me*Quote:

And when i said "around here" i didn't mean TNL, i meant Sacramento,CA. where I live. Because the idiots around here think Hunter: The Reckoning is the be all and end all of gameplay -_-;
The last level was easily the weakest level, removing much of the chaining aspect and making movement a pain in the ass. I didn't like that nearly as much as the rest, which is rather a shame since it started off with a great battle. Although if those pillars could have been destroyed it would've been so much better since too often does the fight degrade to running circles around a pillar.Quote:

I agree that it shouldn't have been there (actually, more that it should've been designed better), but I love the rest of the game enough that it doesn't bother me too much. I also don't have a very high score there since I don't like spending time on it.

I was actually thinking about purchasing GunGrave before I read this thread. Now that the game is under $20, I'm most defineatly going to hunt a copy down. I love Sega's games and the only reason I did'nt buy it, is that I barely knew anything about it. The closest idea I had about the game, was that it looked sort of like a Devil May Cry, meets Spawn style of game.
I would'nt touch Hunter: The Reckoning. What fun in a mindless hack n slash game. I never liked the new Gauntlet, and I'm sure this game is more of the same.
Realy?Quote:

Seems like the theme song to "Sad Girls in Snow"
Damn it sounds depressing; plus the labs atmosphere is enough to motivate Grave to kill.
Seriously, if any of you has the Gungrave OST, hook me up with that song.
Also, check out my Gungrave wallpaper.

I haven't played Spawn, but it's nothing like DMC.Quote:

Hunter is the worst game ever, IMO. you're doing yourself a favor!Quote:

I just picked up a $15 copy from Target. They also had Gun Valkyrie for $15. I have'nt picked up an Xbox yet, but I plan on buying this one as well. I'll have an Xbox in about 5 weeks.
Alright!
I just acquired a copy of "Here Comes the Rain"!
Yay!
Somebody's never played ET for the 2600.Quote:

I like the fact that I can play it as an all action fest or put some real effort into it by trying to chain and play stylish.Quote:

And nice wallpaper.
Here it is:
/me shares.
*edit: apparently the .mp3 attachment feature doesn't work, I'll try to upload it to some server later on tonight.
I've played through it once, and I have to say I loved it, now I need to buy it instead of using another person's game. I think the game is worth 25-30$ :P, no more than that though, and I'll still take what I can get. Too bad I'm broke, and I can't buy it for even 15.
I wonder if I have a Target near me...
Definitely worth my 15 bucks. You have to appreciate the care and effort put into making a game look this good. I know the game itself is pretty shallow but I can't help but be impressed by its style .The art direction is simply amazing.
Here's the song:

Enjoy.
I just played it last night. The anime scenes are pretty cool and the cell shaded design is nicely done. I need to look over the manual and get the jumping and moves down a little better. Played to about the 4th level and enjoyed it, but I need to get a better grasp of the finer points of the control.
Even though I don't own an Xbox yet, I've also taken advantage of the price for Gun Valkyrie ($15). I even picked up the sound track for $4.95 and the funny part was, that $2 was sitting on the floor right below the display, so I actually picked up the soundtrack for $2.95.
Thanks Regus.
Yeah I wish the whole game looked like that though. The in game graphics looked simple and kind of dirty(almost comic book'ish) at the same time but I guess that's what they were going for. I need to go back and play the game for some more beat scores and extras.Quote:

Considering the style of the art and cinematics, I'm pretty sure they were. Too bad the game looks absolutely terrible in the last level where they use open spaces and colors besides pink and black.Quote:

Yeah, but at least the bosses and the last boss particularly(weird shit aside) were cool.
