uo poko was cute and fun, but I beat it the first time I played it. Not recommended for people looking for a big challenge, but the PCB can be had for super cheap

Puyo 4 on DC is fantastic and has 4 player to boot...
Twinkle Star Sprites DC--mix of shooter and puzzler (no slowdown in this version)
Ballistic -- PSX
Puzzle Star Sweep --budget PSX title released by Agetec--fun and cheap (new for like 5 bucks)
Aqua Aqua --PS2 --pretty fun 3-D game where you build things to hold water and try not to lose to much over the sides...
N64 Tetris Sphere is fun, kind of hard to find...
Pokemon Puzzle League, Yoshi's Cookies, Dr. Mario-- the Nintendo puzzlers are a lot of fun...
For thpse that couldn't be bothered to click the link I provided, Denki Blocks is the jam.
You all need to go to EB and buy it new for 9.99
I think you turn on and off the slowdown in Twinkle Star Sprites (great game but I usually win by dodging more shit than the other guy and less by attacking). I too picked up Star Sweep cheap--it's good but very shallow in terms of puzzlers.Quote:

Baku Baku Animal :)
More on Magical Drop. It's in my top 10 (maybe even 5) games of all time. There's an addictiveness to it that is not only charming, but incredibly sexy as well. Yes, the addictive aspect is sexy. It has all the components of a normal good puzzle game, but takes them further and and creates a kind of chaos seen in many action games.
It's incredibly easy to pick up, requires reflexes of the Gods to beat the best players, and somehow never gets boring. While the premise is the same ole "connect the matching colours"....it's somehow...different. Amazing. Wow. Poop!
I can't say enough good stuff about Devil Dice and Intelligent Qube.
Devil is great fun single or multi, and will turn your damn brain to mush. I ended up playing with a real dice next to me to help figure out some of the difficult boards.
IQ is just awesome, from the tapping of the character's feet on the shiny floors, to the sweeping majestic soundtrack. It's not as tough as Devil, but it's always something you'll come back to, and it has a cool multi mode too. "PERRRRRRRRFECT!!!!!!!!!"
Also worth checking out is ZooCube (GC). I don't think anyone's mentioned it. If you can get past the bizarre animal-stacking premise (and the fact it's published by Acclaim), it's an above-average puzzle game that got next to no attention.
xS, magical drop 3 is my favorite puzzle game ever, with the possible exception of tetris attack. they don't play anything alike, so it's not a good comparison. magical drop is much more manic, but somehow doesn't seem overwhelming. it shines in 2-player mode.
My vote goes to Magical Drop too. Easily one of the most addictive game ever.
btw, has anyone played Magical Drop F ?, is it any good ?
I might be getting it soon, not sure. It sure looks pretty...someone told me the pacing is a TINYYYYYYY bit different and there is a few more little instruments to play with. Hmm....
But, I need to find out for myself...one day...one day...
