I love that song.
Something about it seems fitting, given the way we rolled into Baghdad. Man, the Beastie Boys have lost their way.
Ain't it the truth. They stopped being fun altogether after Hello Nasty.
Still, we don't know what their next CD is like,. Maybe "Alive" and that protest-song were just about them getting the crap out of the system so they can get back to writing good songs.
They've never released a bad album, so I'm still expecting something good, even if it's full of protest shit.
What they need is three months in a cabin with nothing but pop culture, pot, and Pabst to survive on. Get back into the Check Your Head / Ill Communication vibe. :)
I think there is a big differance between not going to see someones movie or buying a cd opposed to those who wrote (apparently 24mil) and demanded that David Clenon should be fired from the show he works on(The Agency) because he is against the war.Quote:

And this is what we call, in these parts, a "contradiction". In essence you say, "Boycotting is a good way to show that you don't agree with someone. But boycotting someone because you don't agree with them isn't a good thing."
Which is it?
And who are these 24 million people you speak of?
Maybe I'm contradicting myself but there should be a limmit if that is the case, otherwise free speach seems to at risk.
Free speech is dictated by the government. If somebody is allowed to say something against the war, or against my beliefs, then I have every right to want him out of his public job or to boycott his service/product.Quote:

Public reubuke is not the same as a denial of freedom. It is, in fact, the opposite. It's the millions demonstrating their freedom to disagree with someone.
A limit? A limit to my freedom to boycott someone who is, in my opinion, wrong? With your logic, anyone who votes against an incumbant President is going too far, because it would be hundreds of millions of people wanting someone out of their job.Quote:

Limits? No thanks.
Did anyone catch 60 Minutes last night?
Well I don't think its that easy nothing is of course black or white, atleast not in my world.Quote:

Neither is it fair to compare a president with an actor since one has power and the other just an opinion that doesn't affect me that much. I see it as one of the problematic choices that comes with having a democracy, the system is built on every one having the right to their own opinion without being punished for it, and thats all beautiful and all but then I don't like it when nazis get to hold demonstrations but that's something that comes with the system we live in and I'll accept that. By now you can probably tell that I'm pretty confused about which side I'm on. But words that I live by is anti-choice is anti-solution, you probably say that they are free to make their choice but then so did left-wingers years ago in this country and they got listed by the Swedish security police and was hurt economicly and I can't accept that.
what to believe...
