I've been re-reading The Dark Knight Returns and Watchmen again. Those and Black Hawk Down are always in the shitter, round these parts. Good stuff.

Only about a quarter of the way through, I'm afraid. Both times after starting the book, something came up and I put it aside. I intend to read it carefully; I savor Joyce's writing like some people swish fine wine around in their mouths before swallowing. I want to read the book through without interruption, but what I will probably do is re-read the part I already read at five times the speed, read what I have left normally, and re-read the whole thing again immediately afterward.Quote:

What point are you at in Ulysses, Nick?
The second time I began Ulysses, I lost my job, and the drudgery of looking for work, coupled with all the other projects I had at that time, led me to put it back on the shelf vowing to get to it in a couple of weeks. This week, I finally put it in the pile of books I am currently reading.
If you ever feel like discussing one of the episodes, e-mail me or post about it - I love talking about the book. I still read Scylla and Charybdis pretty regularly, Circe too, although I love every episode.
Noted. Thanks. After I finish it, we'll talk more.
I'm about to start Dante's Divine Comedy. Ulysses has been staring me in the face for quite some time as well, but I haven't gathered the gumption to try finishing it.
Just picked up Jennifer Government by Max Brad. Amazing!
