are your classes as easy as this?

this is for my biology class, which is basically all done with computers. my teacher posts our homework, news, and stuff on a website. here is an example assignment. :cool:

I once got SIX As in psychology just for doing color commentary to a wrestling match on tape. That was pretty easy. Not quite as easy as copying/pasting a URL though.

I'd be pretty pissed if I spent money on classes and got retarded assignments like that.

it's a local community college. I'm just working on an A.A degree there until I figure out a career.

Ahh... I see... I once took a class at a community college (not trying to sound better than anyone because I only took *one* class), it was fairly easy for a math course.

And as for your question, NO, my classes are hella hard and everyone is super-smart. :( I honest to god didn't expect this type of pressure-cooker atmosphere going in...

Warning to everyone: If you want to go to a school to just party, get laid, and sleep through your classes, DO NOT GO TO UCLA (go to UC-Santa Barbara if you want to come to California - it's worth it for In And Out Burger, trust me on this one). If you want to study a lot, encounter amazingly smart kids that you have to compete with on a daily basis, and party a little, and get a little play, then come here. I love this school but it's not a fucking party school - which is ironic because a lot of party-a-lot-college movies (Old School, How High) are filmed here.

I took a 3rd year course called "Judo in Japanese Culture". Instead of a tutorial, we had an hour and a half of Judo practice every week, which was worth 10% of our mark. The lectures were about ninjas.

No textbook, no written tests, no exam. It fucking ruled.

benefits of going to a community college

*smaller classes (20-30 usually), more attention and help to you.

*cheaper than going straight to a 4 year college. you work on an A.A. degree for two years or so, and then transfer your credits for two more years (or whatever, depending on career) at a 4 year college.

*my school is a 5 minute drive, so no need for dorm or apt. not having to pay rent/food is nice. :)

The point of getting an education is to learn something. What are you learning by simply finding links about cell division? Shouldn't your instructor be giving lectures about it instead?

My school routinely puts out graduates from the business college's CIS/MIS program that know little about actually using a computer in the workplace. Sure, they had to take C++ and COBOL courses, but I've only had one course that taught me practical-use scenarios for what we've learned. What's the point of that?

Nothing like going to a tech school with kids who all went to tech high schools.
It also helps a lot to have an hour and a half commute to the damn school so I'm dead tired by the time I get there.
