It pisses me off because I preordered the game a month and a half ago at Walmart, and Walmart says they're not getting the game in stock until next week. Music and movies never have these kinds of problems, they always are on store shelves everywhere the tuesday they're released, what's up with the game industry that it can't do the same? Maybe it'd be more respected as a medium if it did.

Jeremy: MY Walmart doesn't have that problem with music CD's and movies, and this isn't the first time a store hasn't had a game available on it's release date. What's your point?
Well, you did go into Walmart, that's your first problem, and talking to the guy who measures out the portions of ground beef about game release dates probably wasn't a great idea anyway. As far as I know, Walmart gets their games about the same time as anyone else, so I wouldn't worry too much. Give it a day or so.
I'm just wondering how your Wal-Mart not getting a game in on-time (on-time being when it's in other stores) somehow effects the credibility of the ENTIRE gaming industry.
My Walmart was only going to sell me 5, but offered me 10 as soon as I started making fun of the N64.
Did you try Best Buy? I'm pretty sure there are extras to go around at least in my area.
Well considering how big a Nintendo fan you are I can see why this may be upsetting Spo.
I have to chime in and say that Wal-Mart is the last place you would want to pre-order a game, the employees I've talked to know little to nothing about games.
I mentioned this in the official thread, I may be getting fucked up the ass by Wal-Mart too. I called them Monday night and they said they already sold out that morning, and I was like WTF, I got a pre-order. Then I call them this morning and they said they didn't get it in yet. Then I actually went there in tonight and I didn't see any empty spaces on the shelf so I'm guessing they didn't actually get it in. Fuck it, if they have it tomorrow morning, I'm buying it elsewhere, and buying and returning it from Wal-Mart later (they won't refund the deposit by itself).

Our current resident Nintendo fanboy doesn't have his copy yet? Is it too late to rub in how good it is and how I've had my copy since I got off work, along with everyone else around here who preordered at the local Funco right next to Walmart? How about how I also got the giant 3D cardboard standup, can I rub that in too?

BTW Regus I preordered it at Walmart because they had the bonus disc on their shelves on like February 8th and I didn't want to wait another 2 weeks to get it. Must...have....Zelda.....

Like others have said, if you have the cash buy it somewhere else then return get your money back from Walmart when they finnally get your original copy in.
The EB I shop at had over 200 preorders for Zelda, they had a lot on the shelf but I didn't ask if they where extras or just for preorders...
I have to go get mine today, I wasn't sure when it came out, I think I kept getting the release date mixed up with Dynasty Warriors IV instead. Which means I'm probably a few days late on my pre-order, which could be bad. >.>
OH that's right, my mother ordered it online, so it will be shipped, that's rather convinient, No?

well the difference with this and Music and Movies is that most Music CDs or Movies dont have over 550,000 pre-orders
anyway we had 170 or like 190 reserved we ended up getting 210 on monday night so we did get some extra but monday night we still only sold to pre-orders

The only benefit to shopping at Walmart is the people that work there don't know anything, I've pulled so many swap tricks at Walmarts that I can't even count them all. I would have pulled off my plan to legally get like 15 copies of the bonus disc for free from Walmart then sell them on Ebay but I felt bad.

Today Walmart finally got the game in stock, and after spending 20 minutes explaining to the manager how pre-orders work I walked away with a shiny new copy of ZELDA!!! Now to go play it......
