We need new Miyamoto series
Playing Wind Waker has made me realize more than ever that we need new franchises from Miyamoto.
I'm only a few hours into Wind Waker and although it's an excellent game, there's still too much of a been there done that feeling. I'm not saying that Wind Waker is flawed or an unworthy sequel. It's as good of a sequel as could be expected from such a long running series. If someone has this as their first Zelda experience, they will be in gaming heaven.
I just miss having a brand new Miyamoto experience. Pikmin had that fresh Nintendo magic feeling for me but it wasn't quite as epic as Mario or Zelda. I would really love to see Miyamoto and EAD give us something completely new with the same kind of effort that's put into Mario and Zelda games.
Do you agree/disagree?
I'm wondering, how much creative freedom do Nintendo teams have? Are things less or more restrictive in the post-Yamauchi era?
