PC Gamer did some reviews on some budget-priced FPSs a few months ago but I don't have the issue and I don't remember what any of them are. And I see games on the shelf at EB but it's hard to tell if they're any good.
Anyone know any good ones?
I'm not talking about games that were full price and have dropped, only games that came out at a low price to begin with.

Serious Sam I & II are both cheap and fun.
Extreme Paintbrawl is good stuff.

serious sam rox. the single player game reminds me of robotron, which is definately a good thing. there's also a very enjoyable cooperative mode.
Serious Sam on Xbox. Its just $20 almost everywhere, has co-op mode, and is a very fun game to play.
Definately a good buy.
Also, if you looking for PC fps, check Ebay, since you can get ton of the used(if you dont mind getting used) for very cheap.

I can't tell if diffusionx is joking about Paintbrawl. Isn't it considered an extreme piece of shit?

I have about 3 years worth of PC Gamers.. I dont remember them doing anything what you mentioned. Can you be more specific? A few months ago they did a feature regarding games with a military/war setting and mentioned a 4 budget military theme fps games:
Navy Seals - D
Secret Service - D+
U.S. Most Wanted - B+
Shadow Force: Razor Unit - A-
I didnt see anything else in other issues that mentioned budget priced/obscure first person shooters.
There are always older fps's like System Shock 1 and 2, Hexen, Blood 1/2, Heretic and Undying for shooters that are dirt cheap now.
