Mario Kart cast

I agree Clash.

It's not that I hate Diddy as much as some of you. I used to like him in DKC, then they tried to give him more attitude I guess.

Anyway, I don't want it to be Nintendo Kart. There were many Nintendo games I knew nothing about in SSBM. And that's fine, but this is a game about Mario. Mario is a franchise I know more about... (Aside from SMS, I didn't finnish it, and don't think I ever will. Oh, and Luigi's game I have not interest to play at all.) A lot of people know more about Mario... So why mess with a winning formula like Mario Kart?

I was shocked and saddened to see 0 Koopa Kids in SSBM. These things were in 2 of the best Mario games of all time (pluss). I don't understand why they are most forgotten. Glad to see SMB2 (US) characters. I'm one of the few who LOVED that game.

Koopa being back in action is the best surprise. When GBA's Kart game came out, I PRAYED that they added him as a secret character.

If the list turns out the be fake (seems to be a 50/50 chance), I won't mind much. Any chance we may see this game BEFORE E3? (When is E3 again???)

I don't see whats so bad abour rubber band AI. An interesting race is far more intense than seeing how many times you can lap the computer.

One of the most frightening things about Mario Kart 64 is when you are in the lead and fearing that some one in the pack behind you gets a dreaded Purple Shell, you just can't have a relaxing lead in that game.

"Rubber band AI" was put it to keep the races close and "exciting", they went faster when you moved ahead, and slows down when you're behind. Besides MK64, one of the biggest offenders was Beetle Adventure Racing. Oddly, one of the few games that didn't use rubber band AI was the Cruisin' games. If you got far ahead, you stayed ahead, but you usually end up wrecking anyway.

Nah, that wasn't a glitch, that was supposed to happen. There was no condition, it just happened randomly. Its top speed is the maximum speed that you get when you cross a boost arrow. That sound that you hear is the same sound you hear when you decelerate from a boost arrow, except in reverse.

Cheating sucks. I don't care if it supposedly makes the game "more interesting," having victory robbed because the rubberband AI pulled out all the stops at the last moment and won through cheating is pathetic. I refuse to play games that have that because I don't like cheating, no matter who or what does it.

Nine times out of ten it does not make the game "more intense," it just adds an unstoppable frustrating element that requires you to find ways to trick the AI instead of figuring out how to actually win. It's stupid, unnessecary, and reeks of shoddy programming. The concept itself needs to die a quick, yet still painful, death.

I always thought NBA Jam and Blitz to be the biggest offenders I encountered. NBA Jam would have impossible shots and random turnovers durng the final minute, and Blitz was often nothing but fumbles and random full-field touchdowns during the fourth quarter. Aggravating.
