ok it's been at least 9 months since I last played Rez and I got to say that it's still unbelievable gaming experience. I jumped up to this thread because I used to do some serious score attacking in gamefaqs and I competed a little with Miniboss too. I've seen the Lost Area video and first it really looks like a fake or something but I have to say that I and Miniboss achieved the same kind of sick scoring skills in Area 1 than this Lost Area guy. I guess Miniboss was a bit better with score over 290,000 and I only managed to get 289,000 in Area 1 or something but we were pretty equal at the end both having 4 records (Area 1-5, Lost Area, Boss Rush, Direct Assault). My skills improved only because of the ultimate goal we made at the gamefaqs with one guy and that goal was to beat a score we found from japanese site and the score was 282,000 for Area 1. When we first saw this score it really seemed impossible because we only had something like 220,000 or something but slowly we figured out new elements, scoring techniques, scoring patterns and how to build them properly and many other little things. That's how our skills improved and I think Area 1 is perfect for practising Rez skills because if you can get like over 260,000 from the Area 1 you really know how the game mechanics work, how patterns are made and something about boss milking. I played this game yesterday and of course tried score attack in Area 1 and I have to say I was pretty surprised. It had been 9 months and I barely even remembered the Areas and layers but the first score attack in Area 1 ended really badly because I died. I died only because I tried to milk everything from the boss because my score was pathetic. Second try I got 230,000 and after that I started to get little worried. I couldn't believe that I had lost my skills totally so I tried again. There was like 7 attempts and every time I improved a little and I just started to remember all the crazy patterns and finally I was satisfied with the score 284,000. So I haven't lost it and I'm going to try to improve my records and maybe even beat that 290,000 mark in Area 1. When I look your scores here it looks like you people haven't yet figured out some big key elements in score attacking. But it looks good there are really promising players in this thread and I really would like to help if I can. I can now only tell about Area 1 because I haven't played the others and I can't remember the layers in other Areas. Ask about boss milking, layer patterns, layer scores, infiltration scores...ask about anything. I can tell you now that you can get over 100,000 from the Area 1 boss with serious milking and that 500,000 from Area 5 is like a joke because you can milk over 150,000 from the last boss.
Yea, some tips would be great. When it comes to actually figuring out how to get more points for your money with any game.... I'm no good. Level 1 has proven that because I can't even get 100% Shot Down... It's really puzzling me...

Note: I can't say I like to go through Level 5 repeatedly for new high scores. It's so damn long and taxing... If I go through it and I don't get a new high, I can't go through it all over again for a while...
Well that Lost Area score is looking pretty good actually. You know you can improve a lot in Area 1 and I think you can get probably 30,000 more in no time. It goes like this, if you encounter Area 1 boss in giga form the maximum points is something like 85,000 you can get from it but in tera form you can get over 100,000 pretty easily. It really doesn't matter if you can't get 100% for shot-down because you need only +98% to meet the boss in tera form. Post your Area 1 boss and infiltration scores and I'll try to help you. Here's few layer scores that I remember in Area 1. These scores are right before you teleport to a new layer. After layer 1 I have 6470 points, after layer 2 31070 and after layer 3 48150. I can explain the first layer very specifically. First get the 4-lock from the enemies from right and left. Blue ball appears, don't lock it. Now there comes a set of 4 enemies, lock the three from the right and leave the one that is closest to center, after that lock that enemy in the center and the blue ball and now there comes a new set of 4 enemies, lock these with your blue ball and that enemy and you should have 6-lock. Next lock the two enemies and blue ball appears, lock it. Now you have to be fast, with that blue ball locked lock the 2 enemies from the bottom and release the 3-lock, shoot immediately the analyzation cube once and then lock the 2 enemies from the top and then the rest from the analyzation cube and you should have max-lock. After that just progress to the next layer and your score should be 6470 at layer 2 start. I hope I explained it right because I'm not playing the game and I can't be 100% sure about these advices.

I'll have to get my exact numbers later. I was playing a bit before but I had to turn it off because I was feeling burned out...
this analyzation cube trick is really useful and it gives you lots of points and there's many places where you can use it. I don't know if you knew that already or not but try to find different ways to use it, think some of the situations very carefully and you'll find a proper way to use it. I think you can get almost 10,000 more points if you use the analyzation cube to build up your multiplyer in Area 1. Another important scoring element is that when you lock on to different kinds of nodes you can carry them with you as long as you keep it locked and that will give you one extra multiplyer. That means the blue, red and green nodes will follow you even through layers.
