The Return of Seven Force

For those of you not present last year and those that want a refresher - we had a bit of board controversy last year when frequent contributor Seven Force was unceremoniously ousted from the TNL Forum. The banning was a culmination of a lot of back-and-forth bad judgement involving SF and 88mph, with a lot of egging on by plenty of others. 88 stopped just short of going over the edge, but SF took the plunge.

Since then, Seven Force has been around on chat and Andy's forum and has expressed a strong desire to come back. He is liked by a lot of people on here and - in all fairness - was a solid contributor to the community up until the last week or so of his first stay with us.

So, here he is: older, wiser, and in the best shape of his life. I was going to wait until E3, but I think we missed him long enough. Don't you?

Hmmmm, we'll see. After all the bullshit of last time I think I'm justified in being pessimistic, especially considering the Plasma incident.

I have to agree with Diff. I like that we don't have any joke characters, or at least a minimum. I know Lucas crapped all over Bahn, but I'd rather see him back. At least Lucas contributed something.

I don't pay close enough attention to the board, since I assumed that SF was still around -- although I do recall the scrap that erupted last year. Welcome back, although to me it's as though you never left (no offense).

As for the others (Ethugg, Lucas, Opa -- hell, even Zidane), you can let them all come back as far as I'm concerned. Regardless of my opinions about some of their posts (excluding ostensible spamming and excessive cursing), none of them ever really bothered me. In fact, they were occasionally informative and/or entertaining. Then again, it ain't my board...

Lucas Barton - I like his passion for games in general and Nintendo in particular. Unfortunately, that same passion gets in the way of his social skills sometimes, I guess. I have had zero problems with him, personally, but I do see how some might want him (message board) dead.

EThugg - A funny situation. He is a delightful guy, really. It just doesn't always come across. He is the troll most likely to cause irreparable damage to an admin's stomach lining. Interestingly (did you all forget this?), he got himself banned as a show of solidarity with Seven Force. Now that Seven is back . . .

Odds of triumphant TNL return: 20-1

Opa-Opa - He recruited people to spam our boards and then he tried to sneak in at least two times. These are the nice things about him.

Odds of triumphant TNL return: *sits by the flying pig radar*

Revoltor - Holds the record for most bans on a gaming board (or is that Lobo?). Sharp as a tack, except when it comes to explaining why video game prices should be lower (a paladin never forgets). At his worst, he rivals EThugg at his best.

What's that? Some of you don't remember him? Hmm . . . now what can we do about that?

A fair assessment, although I really don't recall much about Revoltor.

Opa is understandably finished given his lame-ass spamming ploy.

Ethugg's chances are that low? Maybe he doesn't care about coming back anyway.

Lucas just needs to stop the constant swearing and he would be fine -- plus, he loved Rez.

That only leaves one stone unturned -- the inestimable Zidane.

Well, he swore never to come back, but I don't know how Seven Force's reinstatement affects his resolve. He can cause some real problems, so I'm not exactly falling over myself to get him to retrun. But you're right, the fact that he effectively banned himself has a lot to do with his being a longshot.

And if you think Zidane is coming back anytime before his twelfth birthday, you are mistaken. Unless . . . he already walks among us.
