Yeah, comedy with depth is good (Futurama, though? You can't cite a better example? ;)) but sometimes brainless, silly stuff can be great as well. This is not to say that Chapelle's humor is brainless; just trying to make a point.
Silly stuff is good, but I too prefer humor with depth...examples I would cite would be independent films such as Ghost World, and bigger stuff like Royal Tenebaums, Bottle Rockets, etc...and at one time Kevin Smith's work before he just started to suck...recent stuff like the Good Girl and others have a humor that is sort of perverse and doesn't really go over with the main stream...
