capcom gives less support for gamecube...

Capcom's going to spread their fecal matter evenly across all the consoles...great. :p

But......most of those aren't even out yet here! I still say they would be pussying out prematurely but I wouldn't be too worried about it. It would kind of funny though if these titles sell less on the other platforms

I doubt they'll do much better(if at all) with the Xbox. It'll be neat to see what Capcom can do with the hardware though.

As usual gamers.com gets second hand information from people who got information second hand. The actual Nikkei story:

Recent reports suggest that Capcom will focus more toward a multiplatform strategy.

According to the Friday edition of the Nikkei Business Daily, Capcom is starting to reevaluate its current relationship with Nintendo. The next game in Capcom's Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil 4, will remain exclusive to the GameCube, but Capcom has reportedly stated that future games in the series would be made available on other platforms as well. Part of this comes from recent sales figures, which have fallen short of Capcom's original expectations. The article also says that Xbox accounted for only 1.5 percent of Capcom's sales, but the company hopes to increase that particular figure.

at least I'm glad to hear part 4 is still there. :)

now when it comes to games past that, I just hope they're not planning on making ports of the same game over and over becasue I'm just sick to death of buying the game and having to find out it's got a "special edition" sitting on the other side of the fence. :confused:

To put it simply: Multiplatform does not necessarily mean less GC support. I could mean more "ports" or in their words "multiplatform support". Since RE4 isn't due till 2004 and the new consoles are expected to hit 2005. I'd rather they focus their efforts on the next next generation hardware. Hell, give us some good launch titles for once ;)

I think it is just talking about Resident Evil Online.

Meh. Most of their 3rd person action adventure games blow.

I guess it would suck if I didn't consider 90% of Capcom's current lineup to not be worth playing. I think All-Stars is the only game I'm interested in and even that isn't a must have for me.

Amen to that. These companies should be more concerned with us early adopters. We are the ones who buy the most games anyway.

so...when is Nintendo going to launch their ISP and give away free gamecubes?

Since I have all 3 systems, I will be enjoying Capcom games, where ever Capcom will decide to put them.

And nothing wrong with upcoming line-up of Capcom games, both PS2 and Cube - Chaos Legion, Red Dead Revolver, Killer 7 and Viewtiful Joe is more than enough games to look forward to. Plus RE4 and Onimusha 3 and Oni Fighting.

Well I don't really care what they do since they decided to hand the 2D work over to Sammy who owns them in that department...my view is meh right now, I loved Onimusha series and look forward to that the most...

RE needs to A) be stopped or B) be stripped down a redone -- I mean come on how many times do we have to buy the same game over and over and over again...oh but they added this feature to the new one...whoop de doo...

DMC killed RE for me...and hopefully Chaos Legion and other new 3D titles will be as good as it was....but I also hope they return to the 2D market and get back to their roots...

I would like to see many more Xbox games and maybe games like Onimusha go to that system since it to me has the most potential and it looks so amazing in High definition...

Gamecube line up of upcoming C titles is solid and I agree it's too early to jump the gun, but comeon a giant I told you so is in order on the RE thing -- of course it would sell more on the PS --that's the system it started on and that's the system the Japanese (and U.S.) support the most...quite your whining C, and get to work...

And as far as Working Designs, are they still in business? Seriously. Has anyone confirmed that they didn't go bankrupt already...I mean who's paying Vic's salary (maybe he's involved drug trafficking or some stuff like that to balance out the 50 years in between each new game)...

Per capita, perhaps, but not overall. I'm sure the industry only sees early adopters as an insurance policy that their consoles will sell at launch despite having zero good software.

Regarding this story, Capcom replied on its website in Japan, “As previously announced in September 13, 2001, as of present time there are no plans to port biohazard (GC) and Biohzard 0 (GC) to other systems. Also, Biohazard 4, which is currently in production, will be released for the GameCube as previously planned. There are no changes regarding our fundamental direction.”

Kabuki, All-Stars was canned for an arcade release, the last I heard was that it could still get a console release.

Resident Evil is not going to sell well on the Xbox in Japan if thats what they are thinking. It would sell well here I would imagine. But then again I don't care about the RE games. And I think the RE crownd has really shrunk.

Seriously there are only so many times you can play the same game over again. I know they add minor stuff each time, but that's not enough to warrant a purchase anymore. Capcom needs to revamp itself... completely redo the 2D characters in high res and put CvS3 or something similar out and either drop or revamp it's overused franchises...but atleast we have a bunch of new concepts for the Cube lineup and some new PS2 stuff coming down the line as well...but where's the 2D I ask?
