Anyone into Creepy/Supernatural stories read this one

I don't know if the story is real or not. Well I'm pretty sure the first couple pages are but as for the rest I don't know. But this isn't about whether it's real or not, I found it a very entertaining story, and actually pretty freaky near the end. Of course it may be different for you, but give it a read if you got some time to kill.


And no this isn't another attempt to suprise you with a loud scream ;)

I was having trouble seeing the last page. Can anyone tell me what happens?

Do you mean the one after page 10? There isn't one, the link to the next page just takes you right back to page 10, altering the url didn't work either. I'm thinking it's meant to be like that, to sort of imply that he met his doom going back. Sort of confirms the story isn't real of course, but nonetheless I thought it was a hell of a read.

holy shit!!! i got this too and it creeped me the fuck out!!

That said, it creeped me the hell out. But I've got an active imagination and he's a good writer, so that could just be it. Still...

just finished reading it. nicely written and had me thinking of the blair witch all throughout.

Very cool story. I really kind of wish it went further though, despite the relevence to how it ended.

www.gizmology.net/lovecraft <- pioneer of weird fiction, probably greatest horror writer of all time. Eternal Darkness was loosely based off of his detailed mythos. For the xenophobic or those with an overactive imagination his stuff is total brown-trousers. I recommend "Colour out of Space" for horror and "Shadow over Innsmouth" "Case of Charles Dexter-Ward" or "at the Mountains of Madness" for weird fiction. Usually his longer pieces are better.

Cool, but really wanted sometype of closure.

What destroyed any type of believability for me is that the link on the last page goes to itself.

Odds are if somebody made a page like that, for example you make the last page, you wouldn't make a link to the next page, and have it link to itself.

You'd make the last page, then when you make the next page, at that time (when both pages are completed) you'd go back and would make a link from page 10 to page 11.

(if that makes sense?)

Pretty cool and creepy read.

Creepy story...of course I had my speakers turned OFF just in case. The Hodag that was mentioned is somewhat of a tourist attraction in the town of Rhinelander, Wisconsin. I still think the Wendigo is the creepiest cryptozoology creature.

This is exactly the case. This cave story has major Lovecraft-influence all over it: the journal format, not naming the people or location, strange noises & smells, no real "ending", the "was it all in my mind?" conundrum, etc. etc.

wow.....i felt like i just wasted my life reading that. pages 9 and 10 could have summed up the story pretty well. we didnt need 8 pages of "im digging" and "lookit the hole now". retarded.

My thoughts as well... this whole tale smacks of lovecraft. Not too bad, but it doesn't evoke the true terror that some of Lovecraft's stuff does.

So all you wanted was the movie trailer, where all the good parts are shown without any of the buildup or development?

Oddly, I could have done without pages 9 and 10. I didn't buy the scary stuff and knew that page 10 was the last page as I was reading it, and that it would stop like it did. The stuff on spelunking was actually pretty interesting.

Great read. Oddly enough, I just finished an Angel novel today all about rock demons and I kep thinking back to it whenever he described the "rock on rock" sound.

pretty creepy stuff, and it didn't help that at the end of page 10 my fucking heater kicked on thus scarring the SHIT out of me...I haven't had a good scare in a long time...hell, I'll believe it.

Somebody keep a tab to see if he actually updates it with his new experiences.
