Humming a game tune

So you're walking down the street and music pops into your head. You realize that you're humming a tune from a video game. What game is it?

For me, today, it was "Born to be Bone" from Gitaroo Man. I've also caught myself doing the "Bip bop boom" intro from Skullmonkeys on occaision, which can be kind of awkward, and various game intros.

There's a difference between favorite tunes and the ones you catch yourself running through your head or humming under your breath, or at least I've found there to be one. So what game music takes up your own internal air time?

"Precious Heart" (Sakura's theme) from the Street Fighter EX games.

Absolutely brilliant.

Also "Return" from Radiant Silvergun, as well as "There is life everywhere".

Haven't been doing that lately, mainly because I just play whatever game soundtracks (or games that have RedBook) in our in-store Dreamcast system that runs through the speakers ^_^

Sometimes I like to hum Sakura's Cherry Blossom song from SFA2, or Taki's SC theme.

Hitoshi Sakimoto tracks often pop into my head.

Today it was that awesome drumbeat from Stage 3C: Return in Radiant Silvergun (Duhn...dun DUN dun DUN dun DUN dun DUN dun DUHN de DUN dun...).

"Humming the Baseline" pops into my head every once in a while. I also find myself humming a lot of tunes to Gaiares. Damn I love the music to that game.

That SFA2 Sakura theme was in my head for close to a year before I got rid of it.

Dammit!

(I seem to only hum Capcom tunes for whatever reason, as far as videogame music goes. They're all so catchy!)

Heh, interesting topic, if I'm whistling randomly, it tends to be "Ai no Mihata no moto ni" from Sakura Taisen 3 or Princess Yuki/Lord's theme from Ganbare Goemon.

I've been humming the songs from JSRF like mad as of late. Also, the Super Mario Bros. theme is stuck in my head.

XII Stag's first stage music is quite catchy.

RayCrisis' "Non-sentimentalisme" has popped in to my internal radio at times. Ding-ding-din-din-ding-ding-din-ding-ding... As a matter of fact, I've got this one in my CD player at the moment.

Which stage is that track from?

The ones that jump into my mind most readily are the first boss tune, the Stage 2 BGM, and that final boss track (this last one is a bit Ridge Raceresque IMO, reminding me somewhat of RR's Rotterdam Nation).

What I've heard so far of DDPDOJ is great.

'Beats in my head' or 'Yun/Yang's theme' from Street Fighter 3 third strike.

Beats in My Head is a favorite among my brain, although I hummed the Zelda theme for almost an entire workday earlier this week. I don't think anyone there actually knew what tune I was doing, though.

Kenshin: Stage 1.

The other day I was walking to my next class, and for no reason what so ever, I started humming the bonus room music from Donkey Kong Country. But for a few minutes, I kept repeating the first few notes over and over again, thinking to myself WHERE THE FUCK IS THIS FROM?!?!?!?. Then it finally hit me, and I was all like "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!".

I've also been known sing the chorus to "Here Comes the Rain" from Gungrave under my breath.

But lately, it's either been that damn tune from the first level of MLF2/Shikagami or something from Rez (killer!), and random tunes from Wind Waker, especially that little ditty that plays while your sucked up by the song of gales tornado.

The videogame music that most often pops into my head is the music from Fantasy Zone and/or Alex Kidd in Miracle World.

I don't mind. ;)

Most of the music from the original Contra and Mega Man 2.

Megaman X music is as catchy as hell. Especially the air stage.

i sing that goddamn "I wanna take you for a ride" song from MvsC2.

don't you dare hum that around me... 'm gonna be pissed if yu get me started... I seem to get the Brave Fencer musashi music stuck in my head every now and then...

Recently the main theme from Legend of Zelda.

Most often I hear the mini-boss music from FFIV (behemoths in the Bahamut cave is one instance). Some of my favorite boss music evar.

I quite often find myself humming the Super Mario Bros theme or one of the ultra-cheesy rock tunes from Sonic Adventure 1 & 2. The King of Fighters '98 and WipEout 2097 soundtracks occasionally pop into my head, too.

(God, I love the instrumental version of Firestarter...)

That damn tune from Secret of Mana in the Dwarves area. That thing gets wedged into my head with barbed hooks.
Wild Arms 1 intro is an all-time favorite. I'd always watch that intro before I fired the game up, it's in my skull forever now.

Too much to mention really.

However, I've learned that the lull of a silent video-game store is not an invitation to hum louder. I screamed (literally) so loud when a customer snuck up on me while I was loudly humming the theme to MM2 Air man. Never been so embarassed in my life.
