SC~ The last comment is nothing personal...I just get this good vibe that rich = evil. I'm not saying you said it, and not saying you'd support it, but your comments are echoed by a lot of people who would like nothing more than to see everyone pulling 6-digits in ruin.
Draw your own conclusion. From what you just said, about not being perfect but supporting a cause, that's good. Just be sure you don't let the 'bad' sentiments take you - I know I have to. Hell, anyone with enough decency to look at everything from every direction has to.
So sorry if it sounded like I was doing that for you. Ironically enough, I responded to what you said, and put in that last paragraph as an afterthought. Maybe I should've put an edit or ps or something beforehand.

As for the Clinton thing, again, not you personally. I just didn't hear the same public outcry when Clinton won that I did when Bush Jr. won. So whenever someone says Bush 'stole' the election, it illicts this memory and the funny hypocrisy of the 'social voice.' Or whatever. I'm bad at naming things...
That's me.Quote:

I'm the class warfare guy.

hehehe...I have to ask you this just once: what's the point of working hard for yourself, or anyone, if all it does is demonize your image, with only recourse to be giving up what you worked for?Quote:

Fair enough. Yes it's tough to deal with my own prejudice sometimes. Not that I'm a racist, but I tend to dislike Jews. Ironic though since my fav thing in DC was the Holocaust musuem. I cried so hard standing in that boxcar that reeked of death. My sister also hangs out with a lot of blacks, which I dislike. Not that I hate blacks, but these are the most socially inept people I've ever met. I guess I can thank my father for most of my prejudices. He hates Jews with a passion and blacks too. He also hates the U.S. But he is a good man. Just they way he was socialized. Sorry about the misunderstanding. I'll add you to my acceptable people list. You and diffusionx are my new converts. By this I mean, I'll give you a better listen than I do Stone or Carter. I'm cool with everything though.Quote:

BTW, I wish I pulled in 6-figures... :(
I didn't mean the exact same starting point. Equity not equality. That everyone has a fair chance to get somewhere, as opposed to systemic design stimying (sp.) sucess.
Communism. Right. Sure.
When you put it that way, I completely agree. Everyone should have the same chance to get somewhere.Quote:

It's actually a very simple theory:Quote:

Give me the money.
Nah, in all seriousness, take a look at my latest post in the Victory thread. EDIT - That would be my really long post in the Victory thread.
I don't own my own business or anything so I have no idea what it takes to make decisions concerning said business or anything that an owner/CEO/whatever would do.
I do know that if I had a lot of money that I worked for and earned, I would give away a large portion of it. The only money I need is enough for myself, my woman, my house, my relatively cheap car, and my immense video game collection. That's just me, though. I may not understand the purpose of an $80,000 car or a mansion, but that doesn't mean they're "evil". I try not to use that word, anyway. Too religion-y.
I just see run down homes, crappy neighborhoods, all those bad parts of society and I just think, "Man, if I only had some money, I'd clean these places up," and then I see rap stars with Cadillac Escalade limos (not that the Escalade is a bad vehicle, I rather like the design). But, I mean, it's all part of the economy and we're still kicking. So...
Um. I can't think of anything else to say. I'm up way past my bedtime but I can't get to sleep. It sucks. Yeah.
I guess the thing I try to drive home is:
If you were rich, you'd help people. Heck, if I were rich, I'd help too.
But that's our decision. Whenever I see large-sweeping government-run social programs, I get edgy. They tend to consume more money than they put out on the giving end. And I really don't dig the wealth-distribution thing, because I believe enough in charity of people and the core humanity of helping others that I don't think a person's income needs to be strongarmed.
And if someone doesn't make the charitible decision and buys the Escalade? Well, it is their money, one way or another.
