Any predjudices i have i work on not having and on breaking

as opposed to you who is perfectly content on keeping your predjudices cause your close minded which IMHO is what makes those racists out there the evil that they are

that they refuse to open their mind and accept that their preconceptions of an entire group of people could be wrong and to see that each person should be taken for themselfs and taken one person at a time

not lumped into a group

but you fail to see or understand that and continue with your childish hatred and prejudice of frats

what makes racists so horrible is their refusel to grow and accept new ideas and accept new people and accept their experiences may not and arent a representative of the whole

but just like those racists you dont do that and continue with your prejudice

maybe youll accomplish that other human trait that so few have and grow past your prejudice but probably not

And why am I a racist for hating frat guys? Are they a race now? There are some people I don't like, but I don't generalize them all by saying I hate all minorities. If that were true I wouldn't be supporting affirmative action or doing minority research at school. The ones I've quoted, Black and Jews, aren't meant to signify my prejudice against them just that my father has pumped me so full of his racism that I've looked on them in a skewed manner all my life. But I don't hate them and I don't do anything to them. I care as much about their plight as I do everyone elses, if not more, my own included. How does that qualify as racism? So apparently I'm only racist cuz I hate frat guys? That's your argument? *laugh*

Johnpv, I dunno. The guy has to deal with these assholes. He has to deal with them breaking the rules, not doing what they're supposed to, not doing what they say they will, etc. He hates them because they treat his organization like shit.

Maybe one day in the future he will lose his prejudice of frat guys. He will lose the prejudice when he doesn't have to deal with the pieces of shit on a weekly or whatever basis.

I mean, its fucking easy to tell him just to turn his cheek and like them in spite of the fact that they don't respect HIS organization, but the real world isn't quite that cut-and-dry.

Im not saying he has to love the ones he has to deal with

but IMHO to sit there and say all frat guys are assholes is akin to a racial slur

because your taking a GIANT group of people and lumping them together because of some bad experiences you had

its the same base as racism

alot of the customers that come in my store treat me like shit soley because im white and im "the man" do i hate all of them for that no

because i realize some people are fucking morons and just because i had bad experiences with a particular group doesnt mean they are all like that

the problem is in saying all of a large group of people are something based soley on one aspect they all happen to share

its people who do that why affirmitive action was put into place

Edit: I'd like to add that saying a person who doesn't like frat guys is the same as a person who hates blacks is a gross exaggeration. They may both be stereotyping, but they are nothing alike.

Late to the party here as always, but I'd like to drop by and insert my 2 cents.
Personally the only Affirmative Action that I have enough information to have an opinion on is the College Admissions one that was the topic of alot of news recently (at least around this area). Personally I don't think race should affect admission to college in any way. I think that everyone trying to get into college should be admitted on their merits alone. They should not give their race, or even their name (since sometimes race can be at least hinted at by name). The admissions boards should get the application with a number on top and should be forced to judge via the essays and grades and all other merits... nothing else.
