Astro Boy's 'birthday'

4/7/2003 is Astro Boy (Tetsuwan Atom)'s birthday from the original Japanese storyline. This was noted in Japan by having a re-enactment of his birth.

The comic itself has been around since the 50's, and then became an animated series in the early 60's. There is even a game or few based on him. (I know one is for Super Famicom).

Anyone else remember Astro Boy?

I was raised on Astro Boy. They need to release those volumes on DVD so I can get my nostalgia on.

I can't wait to watch the new anime! It looks spiffy. You know anything about it, 7 Force? I saw some pics in the new issue of Newtype.

I didn't get to see Tetsuwan Atom until the late 90's but I thought it was a violent little cartoon :)

I remember reading somewhere that they were going to make Astro Boy an official citizen of Tokyo.

I have the same birthday as Astro Boy, that's pretty cool :)

He's the guy who made the manga from which the anime Metropolis was made and had something to do with the design of megaman,but i'm not really sure for the later.

But compare Rock from Metropolis to Protoman and you will see the ressemblance:)
