I voted worth it. Every damn minute and every dollar spent. Sex is always a good thing and on top of that (if you're the kind of person who needs the other things) your girlfriend/fiance/wife can be a source of inspiration and someone to talk to about your worries and fears. The bonus to this is that if you have a good lady, not only will she not tell that stuff about you but you'll also never have to worry about slipping up and telling one of your buddies that you're afraid of something. It has nothing to do with protection or disease it has to do with emotional baggage. And woman come with tons of it. If I feel the need to unpack a bit I've got friends. No need for a permanent life mate for me.
For Analogy purposes, it's like a job:
You do a lot of work with other people and in the end you get the pay.
For Women:
You win them over, and share a relationship, in the end you get Emotional/Physical/Mental Rewards.
Well worth it. I love my wife and I'm a happy man :p
