Teh Andy! your link is broken! Give info!
It is? Me cry :(
Well, it's a Japanese comercial for Earthbound 1&2 for GBA, apparently with a hint at something with Mother 3 :(
Agasp! That's awesome!
Dates? Anything else? Pie?
Thank goodness. Wasn't into forking out the dough for the SNES version and part II to boot. Maybe ports aren't so evil :)
June 20th in Japan, apparently :D
this had better come here
Technically that would be for Earthbound 0 and 1.
Earthbound was Mother 2 remember. We never got Mother 1 on the NES.

Mother Compilation Coming to Japan
Posted at 6:08 pm by Dan
Nintendo has announced via a commercial that Mother 1+2 will be released in Japan on June 20th. The game will include a port of the NES game Mother (never released in English) and Mother 2 (released on the SNES under the name Earthbound in English). No news on English releases of either, but next month's E3 could yield announcements. Click the link for the commercial complete with footage of Mother 1+2.
Neat I guess.
Unless we get a port, it doesn't really matter.
I hate geocities.

Hopefully the price of the SNES cart will go down if the GBA compilation is released here.
Guys, of course this game will come out here. I JUST BOUGHT Earthbound again on SNES, which of course means we'll get the port I've been looking for.
/me points and laughs at Chux
Why do you care? With the GB player you can play on the TV :)Quote:

/me shrugs
I love the game, what can I say.
Really? I would have never guessed! :DQuote:

Most people don't seem to put 2 and 2 together ;)
/me hugs his GBA. :)
Keep it up little fella!
Did I mention my GBA gets the most play time out of my consoles?

More people should post here, because this is great news. Anyone think we should take this as a sign that a Gamecube update is coming as well and there will be some type of GBA->GC connectivity involved?
I can dream can't I. :kirby:
I hope this comes out in the U.S. Although if it doesn't I'll just buy Earthbound for $10.
I own a SNES and I prefer to play the originals instead of ports.Quote:

If this doesn't come to the US, I will cry.
I must have my Mother games.
And Chux has the best avatar/sig combo.
Jimmy is a fellow member of Your Mothers Aliance ;)
Did anyone else notice the "hint" at Mother 3 for the GBA? :)
Is that what you said to your GBA, or is that what your wife says to you when you make babies?Quote:

that's cool, get to play Mother finally.
still, i'd rather have a sequal. give us a sequal already Ape/HAL.
No, I took the news that Nintendo was restarting development on Earthbound 64 for the GameCube as a sign that a GameCube update is coming.Quote:

Oh, and I would get this because Ive never played Earthbound.
Comments like this are why you're so loved here.Quote:

I bet you say that often.Quote:

Ignore list +1
Could you be any more sensitive?
While we're on a rhetorical question roll, of sorts... Could you be any more annoying? Quite blabbing about whatever and try to stick to the topic at hand here. This compilation gives more folks the ability to play Earthbound, even if it's not released here. If it is, then the resale value of the SNES version drops quite a bit, which is a good thing.
Mother 1 and 2 on GBA sounds great. I just hope they don't mess up the music(Though even SMW wasn't perfect so I guess that may happen).
The reports of Mother 3 being a GBA game kinda sucks. I'd rather it be on the GC but the GBA player will soften the blow considerably for me.
Jeremy, that post contributed absolutely nothing to the thread. Think about what you just typed:
- A port of a game will let more people play the game.
- A re-release will lower the price of a hard to find game.
Everybody already fucking knows that.
I prefer it without gay borders and dinky GBA music, not to mention lower res.Quote:

Is it going to come with the kick-ass strat guide that the SNES version had?
SC
That'd be cool but wouldn't that make it pretty hard to find the actual GBA cart?Quote:

They could resize it and make it quite a bit smaller though.
Look at the end of the ad. It says "Mother 3 for gameboy advance is being made. Gunnnnmakennn."Quote:

That or make it available seperately. It's one of the best guides after the Lunar ones.

GBA Central has 6 pics!
Pics are surprisingly crisp, but the color seems a little off. Was this rebuilt for the GBA or is it just a port? Me likey so far.

I hope those pics are just NES and SNES pics. They really should remake the NES version using the SNES graphics.

If Mother 3 is on GBA, than the work they did on the N64 truly did go to waste.
I'll take whatever they give me though.
Man, please just been screen caps of the NES version. I mean, you just GOTTA update the graphics at least a little.
The games aren't that big to begin with, you can do what they did with Heiyanko Alien on the Gameboy, include both an updated and original graphic set and allow the user to choose.
I mean, the two color enemies gotta go, son.
I'm not a hard-to-please person when it comes to graphics, but you have to step it up a little here.
If it does get released here, it'll render my beta cartridge of the original NES Earthbound pretty worthless.
But I'm not holding my breath on this, NoA's already screwed us with Magical Vacation and Fire Emblem, and possibly with Custom Robo GX as well, so I'm skeptical of this getting a US release either.

No matter how many times I read that, it never hurts any less.Quote:

Those screens don't look like they changed much, but I'd love to see those games over here anyway. I still haven't finished the SNES Earthbound (#2?). I hope Nintendo's on the ball here.
I will fucking destroy themQuote:

Seriously.
Not releasing both of these here would be serously stupid. I don't put it past them, but it would be seriously stupid.
