These are interesting. I hate to be the only nay-sayer, but I don't really care for these...it's the style mostly. I find the images fairly basic, and the text fairly overt, and I don't feel those elements combined produce something greater than the sum of their parts.

It's hard to categorize, because it's abstract in some ways, and very literal in other ways. Given that, I think the most effective piece is "Excuse", in that the painting style, color choice, imagery, and text all work together and make you think about the piece instead of just spelling it out. The brush strokes on the cross fit it's form nicely, whereas in other pieces, there's often a unrefined stroke to account for a ground plane or something (which is all that needed since things aren't existing in rendered environments).

Hmm...the more I look at it, I really like the "excuse" piece. I'm pretty sure I know what you were going for with the message (based on the tone of the other pieces), but it's vague enough to be interepreted other ways, or with layers of meaning, which is a definite plus for "artsy" art. I don't think the other pieces really have that.

I think it would be more effective to simply name the paintings "enemy" or "lies" or whatever, instead of writing them on the painting. It's more subtle that way, and you're not beating us over the head with your meaning.




Oh, and I like them.

I label EVERYTHING that I disagree with as being "evil" too. Life is much more fun when its viewed in black and white... :D



Anyways, great job, 88. If anything, you may be able to make some money if you threw some of your works on ebay. Keep up the good work. :)

Hm. I like the first one best. Looks like trees that might be crosses. Reminds me of night, winter or water.

I don't care for any of the others but the Lies one, and not because of its message, but because the layout is nice as well as the style and color. The messages of all of them are way too obvious and cliche, with the exception of the first.

I do like the text effect on Filth. The text alone is good, but I guess that'd be pointless.

The turn signal one is amusing.
