I used to wear them all the time, but now I like to wear sneakers that actually have padding and arch support. Still, they were pretty cool shoes.

yeah, and i have no idea how people back then played in them. they're great shoes to walk and run around in, but for basketball, they're terrible. they offer no cushioning and no ankle support whatsoever.Quote:

The old high top One Stars were the fucking bomb. Then they pulled them off the market, and "redesigned" them to look gay.Quote:

I wore Chucks for about twenty years of my life. I'd still be wearing them if they didn't get rid of their redesigned model... the "Easy Chuck" which was the same shoe, made from suede(sp) and it actually had support.
Now I wear DC skateboarding shoes... serious comfort. :)
My shoe of choice:

I like Top-Siders...I used to like Vans a lot, now I've got one pair of white Adidas tennis sneakers that are pretty nice.
Converse were my shoes of choice during my serious hoop days in high school and college.
Not the old-school All-Stars, but the more comfortable & modern versions that came after.
They just don't make em the same anymore.
I used to be into the allstars (when I was 8 I had the denim ones - oh dear). Had a couple of pairs since then, along with a pair of 1 star. When I hit 14 I found skateboards, and skateboard shoes - DCs :)
BioMechanic, Coupling is a fantastic show - Is that the one when he had to pretend he had a wooden leg?
Yeah, that's the one! Probably my favorite episode. Jeff is brilliant. That freakin show is classic - and I usually hate sitcoms with a passion.Quote:

I doubt any of the cast wears All-Stars.
I love the Converse All- Star hi tops. They're too comfortable words, a sock with laces and a sole is the best way to describe it. Mine have plenty of memories going for them, too. They've been to more concerts than I can remember.
:D probably not.
But still, I have to agree with you on the sitcom thing. That is definately a classic.
