Uggh, that's ugly. I must admit though, I am curious as to if it would play any different.

That art style reminds me of Toshinden, and those sprites aren't helping.
I'd have to say that I think all the changes they made regarding character were definately for the better, including things like Sol's sword now being a flat sword with no edge. Makes it more interesting that he's beating people with a sword (yes, I realize that's how broadswords actually work, but not quite like this).
/me has violent flashbacks to ShinOhKen.
Good find. Years ago I read somewhere Arc Systems originally rendered GG in 3D before opting for the hand-rendered anime look, but I had always thought they meant the game was originally going to be a Tekken/VF contender. Suffice it to say they made the right decision.
that is some ugly shit
Even though I am sooooooo very happy they changed it to how it is now, Millia is still hot. I wonder if she was as cheap in this version? hohoho.
ps-Sol looks ridiculous. What *is* he doing?

Thank goodness they changed their minds. The prerendered art just isn't nearly as good.
As for the original designs, they're not bad but would better be served with hand-drawn sprites.
i dont know doesnt see to bad
i like both
personally i like pre-rendered sprites and hand drawn sprites for 2D fighters
but im also a huge fan of the Killer Instinct series
and i think pre-rendered sprites can be pulled off
and i agree i like that Milla more
