Yeah, I've noticed that in the middle of the second level of Ikaruga, it's better to stay towads the front of the screen and cross the lines of bullets as soon as I can. That took many a life to realize.Quote:

Sorry for the double post but I have a question. I was planning on picking up Gunbird 2 for Dreamcast. I just read an old issue of Official Dreamcast Magazine that reviewsed it though, giving it a 3/10. They said it was "too short and too hard. A terrible combination". So I was rethinking it since I'm new to the genre. However, they aren't the most credible source and also ended that review with "won't someone let this genre die already". Psh! I'm just getting started!
Don;t listen to the naysayers... Gunbird 2 is great. Not the best, but still great.
Take a look at the Gunbird 2 high-score thread. It's the second largest thread at Guinness, behind only Ikaruga.
That should tell you enough.

Gunbird 2 is a great game, but beware... it's wicked fucking hard (on Normal difficulty, that is). I honestly wouldn't reccomend this to a beginner, but hey, if Ikaruga didn't break you and you enjoyed it, then by all means get this. It's pretty inexpensive these days, unless you want the import, which will cost you $40 or so.
Is it just me or is Gunbird 2 incredibly easy in 2 player, and hard as a bitch in single player. The first time I played it was with a freind and I blew right through the game...Quote:
