No... really. I am happy for Click that he likes his Lomo(not 100% sure on the name).
Its always bugged me a bit that he talks about the "amazing effects of the Lomo" or something to that extent when any camera set on a low film speed can do the same thing.
Wiggly night time shots are not the most impressive thing in the world... no matter what camera you use.
Beleive me, this isn't bitchy.
I try not to be rude about other peoples art... even if I think its shit. Thats totally not my thing.
This isn't the place to bicker ... people should feel free to post whatever they want and get constructive criticism. :)
Personally, I think the Lomo takes some really interesting pictures. While I happen to like a lot of the wiggly night time shots, the Lomo is not good for just that and I don't think that's meant to be its main selling point either.
I've done some reading about it and I think the camera is very interesting both from a historical perspective and based on the types of pictures it takes. You can take some really neat pictures with it ... including some unique abstract shots. As soon as I get some $$$ I'd like to pick one up myself.
You can read more about it here: www.lomography.com
If people aren't confident enough in their art to have it criticized, then they shouldn't post it. That's the whole point of showing people art anyway, to get their perspectives on it.Quote:

Sarcastic remarks don't constitute constructive criticism -- 88's second comment ought to have been his first. Though, as icepop mentioned, this isn't the place.
The Moth on Leaf was great.
that's sweet. I don't enjoy your dragonfly so much, but this one is awesome.Quote:

You can give helpful hints, and you do so a lot. But have some taste is, I guess, what people are trying to say. Don't say things here like you would in other forums. This forum is the one where people are not inane idiots for most of the time and we all like that for a change.Quote:

I'm not saying or trying to imply that the camera is high and mighty and can do what all others cannot. If I sounded as if I was being a pompus fool, I apologize for my choice of wording or whatever gave you that impression.
In an odd coincidence I walked into the room with Atlas looking at this thread. I never go into the galleria, but I just bought a LOMO camera earlier today. I'm really excited to try it all out and screw with things :)
It can totally take wiggly light night time shots like no other camera!
