Yea, it is kinda nice to see what everybody does "irl", it's easy to forget sometimes that all these messages come from real people.

And no major for me. I went to art school a bit, got accecpted into a few colleges, but never really completed much of anything.

I didn't want to go to school for something with the ultimate goal being a career, so I went into the work world instead.

Doing pretty well for myself and I'll probably end up retiring when I'm about 30...then I'm gonna go to school just to get my learn on.

What kind of career can you expect from an English Major (teacher/professor I'd guess)?

Well, my 23rd birthday is coming up in a couple of months, and I'm not really sure where I'll be when that comes around. I've spent the last 7 months living in an apartment right outside of Boston paying a ridiculous amount of rent. I've recently purchased 4 ferrets, and have also given my last month notice so that I can move into an apartment with my longtime girlfriend. Who...unfortunately is not graduating college until May 18th, I meanwhile have to be out of my apartment by June 1st...shit.


My job is the same job I've had since I got back from Japan really; working with developmentally delayed adults in a respite setting, which basically means I babysit for retarded adults when their parents need a break. The pay is ok, and the health benefits are nice. I never finished college so I've spent the last 4 years trying to build up as much "experience" as I possibly can. I'm still living paycheck to paycheck and can not understand for the life of me how people can buy houses and cars and vacations when I have to budget for macaroni and cheese.

Somedays I get really down that my life hasn't found a direction yet. I am hoping that once I finally move into a place with my girlfriend I'll be able to dig in and really start to form my own life and family. Other days I look back and realize I'm lucky that I even have a place to live (I spent 3 months living on the streets of Boston.) I try to read as much as I always did, and try to find time for the things I enjoy, i.e. hiking, videogames, movies, writing. It's hard when you have quite possibly the WORST work schedule ever created (Wed 1P-3P, Thurs 3P-11P, Fri 3P-11P, Sat 9A-11P, Sun 9A-7P) so I basically live at work for the entire weekend.

I would like to go back to school in the fall and luckily my work is willing to pay since I want to get a degree in sociology and psychology. I'm still dreaming that I'll write a best-seller someday but everyday it seems like tomorrow is a better day to start. At this moment I pretty much stressing about the whole living situation, 1 month is not really a great amount of time to find a place to move, move, and settle in. I think that's it.

Nah, I'm interested in business - I've run a business for a while now, a few years, and I've taken a good number of finance courses in the b-school. English was just a way to pass the time, basically - an expensive hobby.

I need the BA more than I need a particular major. Still, it'd be nice to have a BA with some real stated use, like Econ or Hotel Administration or something.

My final speech is tomorrow, plus a research report in English, and a research report in Biology. I have literature exams next Monday, and the final exam next Wednesday. I also have my biology final next Wednesday.

Well, I'm a good employee. Most the disrespect I keep locked away in the "vault".

Also, most my customers don't simply lack game knowledge; I don't blame anyone for that. They're often stinky, ill-spoken white trash, or stinky, pretentious assholes.

For myself, work and Being Married take up most of my time (not that I'm complaining).

If (or when) I get over the sudden death of my mom and the subsequent distintegration of my natural family (including my dad re-marrying, to a most unsavory woman, and my sisters suddenly turning into History's Worst Harpies), I'll start writing again.

Gaming is certainly welcome therapy, that's for sure.

Fair enough, I personally hate the corp. world, even though I run my own business and I'm knee deep in a white collar career.

It's always nice to have a hobby though. :D

Currently enjoying life. The shop is getting pretty fine tuned and starting to really work. I like that. Some old bandmates have asked me to tour with them so music's back on. I really like that. MY wrist is in good enough shape to do pushups and dips and pullups again. The dogs are overwhelmingly cool and my truck's running great. I just got XII Stag, DDP DOJ, and Bobobobo Bobobo: Nosehair Festival. They're all brilliant so that puts a smile on my face. My friends are quality. I'm halfass dating a cute chick and we almost never have time for each other. That's merely okay, could be better truthfully. OH wait, one other bad one: My friend and next door neighbor's new girlfriend. She's a psycho of the highest order and is continuously in my business. I don't mean in my shop and hanging around, she's just always telling her boyfriend to tell me to do this by this time and if I don't she's gonna.... And that whole angle. My upstairs neighbor whom she also harasses daily swears he's going to hire some gangsta girl he knows to beat her up. It sounds mean but I'd smile:evil: I personally abstain from the violent route in favor of a few well honed Jedi mind tricks. "These are not the dogs you're looking for."

On the whole, I'm quite pleased at the moment.

what business do you run kidnemo if you don't mind my asking? And pardon my ignorance - but what does "blog" mean - I assume its derogatory - I didn't intend for this thread to be one for depression, I mainly made it because I was sick of coming to sound off and not seeing any threads that were worthwhile to post on - besides, this thread let me vent a little bit (yeah my post doesn't sound like venting - but it helped me release some stuff that was on my mind - I just felt like talking or something).
