Well, I wasn't a big fan of the original SSX and only played Trickeyy once. It seemed better but not better enough for me to buy it. Do you guys think the thrid incarnation gonna be a step forward enough for me to give it another shot? I'm tempted.... it's got The Faint and Ima Robot on the soundtrack!

Iw asn't huge on the way tricks were pulled off. It seemed cumbersome. Plus, that damn "trick book" or whatever that you had to fill out, that was a pain in the ass.
the basic trick system is the same (with some refinement,) but according to an interview, they managed to completely remove the trick book, due to complaints from gamers and the developers themselves.) i hated it too. :chick::chunobi:

This is one of those games that I know I relly shouldn't be looking forward to. There's really nothing that should tell me that I would enjoy this game yet from little things like the amount of hype, the style, and the soundtrack, it's pulling me in.
Really, I love the SSX trick system. It just seems to make more sense, and doesn't seem so artificial like, say, the Tony Hawk series.Quote:

I prefer the THPS trick system overall.
But after playing the Tricky demo for about 2 hours, I literally turned off the ps2 and went to a 24hour Walmart (it was 3am in the morning I believe) and bought my copy.
THPS and SSX are both different types of games, which I get equal enjoyment out of.

Tony Hawk on the other hand, that's a game you can seemingly improve your skill on forever. Finding the right runs and linking together some seriously huge combos is not easy to do. And it's also fun pulling off tricks, just like SSX. Except it's way more challenging in the end. And that translates to more satisfying, at least from a sense of accomplishment.
