I went with the PS2 version for the controls and have no regrets. This is a fantastic game by the way. The mountain is amazing.

the ps2 version actually supports dts 4.0. no center channel or subwoofer, but it still sounds great.
The Gamecube revolution! I'm picking this up tonight along with a twelvepack. Can't wait to tear up that mountain.
All 3 versions are fine, although I admit it sucks that we lose a few moves due to the missing turbo button on the GC. But who gives a damn, the game doesn't lose any interest after such. So far, I'm at Peak 2.
No sub? What the fuck is the point!Quote:

well, there's no dedicated sub channel. of course, it still plays low frequency sounds and all.. full 5.1 sound is quite a processor hit. i'm pretty sure that only the xbox version supports it.
Wow, this game is even more fun than GTA when that first came out.
Just about the only negative thing I've noticed on the PS2 version was that it drops the framerate every now and then, but otherwise the controller and online play more than make up for it.
I hope the SSX developers never go back to level based format of the first two games. :D
Can you board press into a jump? That's how I imagine you rack up big points, but how can you when you use your right thumb for both presses and jumping?
I think it's a matter of doing a board press till just before you want to jump, then switch over to the jump button and get ready to jump before your combo clock runs out.
It's definitely something that can be done though, that's how you can combo from the top of the mountain to the bottom.
Exactly.Quote:

Rinse. Repeat. XTREME!

The vegetable gives it the first thumbs down I've seen.
Roufuss, I don't think I like your use of the underline feature. It doesn't make sence. :p
Tricky was much more grab-and-go.
The characters actually had interactions outside of your rival having a freaking "!" above his damned head. They would speak at the begining and end of every race. EVERY RACE! Where the Hell did that go in this one?! I don't just want to know when my rival wants to challenge me. I also want to know what my friends have to say before and after, and I want my boarder to punk out if I suck really bad.
The menu system sucks. It's confusing as all Hell, and it's difficult to gain your bearings once in. I also find it horribly annoying that I have to restart the effing game every time I want to return to the lodge . . . but I could be overlooking something. God knows with this menu system, that's very possible.
That said, I do like some of the things it's done. The varied events and peaks add wonderful variety to the play and replayability . . . but why are all of the extra events singles events? Why do I have to run down a mountain by myself? What the Hell fun is that? I have to beat a preselected score from a player who "already ran the course" (read: randomly selected or scripted by the game itself). Shenanigans!
All of the snow effects are wonderful. Man! I got to the second peak and saw the snow coming down and was awestruck. How many other games do you know that do that?! None! I also like how the grounded snow glistens and glitters, but it looks really fake, unlike it's wonderful, precipitous brother.
I love the degree of freedom the game gives you in the customization department. All of the crap to unlock and purchase is a very welcome addition. But it seems hollow. Like, so freaking what! I get to match my meangless wardrobe to my meaningless accessories to my meaningless board. What happened to stats improving (or at least changing) with each new board upgrade? What happened to the thrill of unlocking that last, super-ultra-incredible board that just couldn't be beat? What happened to all the meaning?!
The production values were also much higher on Tricky. We got a serialized "Making of . . ." We got character voice actor profiles. We got a whole buch of coolness that wasn't present in this one. That just plain sucks.
It's very possible I'm being too hard. The game controls very well, and it's pretty fun to race most of the courses available. That's why I'm going to give it another shot tomorrow morning before I go to work. I'm tired right now, and I have been ever since I got out of work seven hours ago. These opinions and issues might be the result of "The Grump." The same thing happened with Jak II, and I ended up loving it.
I haven't lost hope for it, I'm just pissed off at it, and threatening to return it makes me feel better. :p
Roufuss, I could tell you how I return games to my store, as it is entirely legit, but I don't want to give anyone else any ideas. I work there, after all, so it's not such a big deal, as my methods are endorsed and practiced by the managers. But an outsider getting ahold of our secrets would be very . . . bad. ;)
P.S. Looks like I knew what "prewinding" was all along. I just didn't know it was called "prewinding." :p
It's called your MCOMM, use it. Also most of the chatter happens during races now such as the trash talk and the praising. Knowing that hot chicks are looking out for you on the slopes is a nice feeling. Also it's pretty funny to have some guy talk mad shit halfway through the race only to eat it and have your character talk smack while they're dead somewhere. Good times!Quote:

Yes you are overlooking something. You transport yourself to the lodge through the TRANSPORT option in the menu. Use your head.Quote:

So I guess you missed the 2 of 3 variations of the hill runs where you actually do race against your rival. Awesome job! I will pistol whip the next person who says the word shenanigans (GUESS THE MOVIE TIME!).Quote:

I could actually careless about the stats for the items. Theres such a ridiculous amount of items and accessories (I'm a DOAX fan, I love accessorizing) that I just get lost in them. So there, you have one valid complaint somewhere in that.Quote:

And Tricky wasn't even a quarter of the size that SSX3 is. So I guess in the mindless filler category of SSX Tricky, it runs away with the gold.Quote:

IN OTHER NEWS~
I maxed out Griff and started on Elise tonight. Wow is using tall characters weird! No longer can I frontflip up hills and such. I bought Crimson Skies tonight and went back to playing SSX3 as soon as I got back to my friends place. They all started yelling about how I can just go out, buy a game, toss it on the floor and go back to playing something I've had for a while now. Sorry, SSX3 is too good XD!!!
CV has a point, the menu system kind of sucks ass. It would be better, if the manual wasn't so crappy. I just now figured out what session means, after never giving it a second look before.
But I agree 1000% with him about character interactions. The characters in this one feel so dead and carbon copy. In Tricky, you really got to feel your character, and all the interaction in it was fun as hell. Yea, they chatter to each other during a race, but that's no excuse to cut out the pre and post race chatter.
And CV might not have got this far, but wait until you get to the "secret" characters, and realize they are just skins, and don't have any voices or style of their own, and you can't customize them. What good is having Eddie or Marisol if I can't customize them and they don't talk?
Yes, this game is a masterpiece in terms of course design, gameplay, control, and replay value, but they really cut back in terms of character. This game is damn good, but it's by no means perfect.
And where did I underline anything before?
Here's a question... when you're equipping gear, what do the bars on the right side of the screen with a 1 and a 2 mean? Sometimes they go up and down when I change equipment, but I can't figure out what the hell they're for. Anyone know or have an idea at least?
THIS GAME SUCKS BECAUSE THE CHARACTERS DONT TALK ENOUGH!
And to think that I'm hearing this on TNL, where gameplay is supposed to be paramount. I'm sorry, unless the most important thing for you in a game is XTREME characters exchanging tired and cliched equips with each other, I suggest you put down SSX3 and start taping Mt.Dew commercials.
DO THE DEW!
I was buying some soda in a gas station on the way home with SSX3 a few days ago, and I never drink Mountain Dew... but I saw it next to some Pepsi and decided the Dew would be a better choice for my SSX-ing. Made myself laugh :)
Damn! Nemo stole my post :(
Nemo, you gotta remember. This is TNL. Somone HAS to find at least SOME mundane reason to bitch and moan, no matter how lame it may be. You're not allowed to praise a game without someone coming up with SOMETHING to bitch and moan needlessly about.
And that is why I love this place. It rewards me with a never ending string of hilarity.
I haven't seen the other versions yet but its a beautiful game on any system. Besides some framerate drops here and there, there's nothing ugly about the PS2 version alone so if not by a side-by-side comparison you really wouldn't tell. It also has the high resolution mode Remy mentioned.Quote:

Anyway thats just my stance/preference on the PS2 version. If you don't have a PS2 and have an X-Box and GC you can't go wrong with those versions(I'd tell you to get the X-Box one over the GC save the memory card portability issue).
Rushed crap? Come on now, hardly.Quote:

I do miss all the stuff you mentioned but SSX3 has far more substance in actual gameplay than Tricky had. Besides they all still make quips when they pass you by as Sl1p said and some even come up to you at the end of a race and talk to you. MCOMM as I mentioned is a cool way for them to interact with you from far while you may be doing something else.
No need for all of that hassle man just use the transport system. As far as the menu's go, they are a bit much to take in but its not overbearingly difficult to navigate them. There are alot of spots to cover and you can either just go to a specific spot or start from the top if you want and trick your way down which makes it very convenient.Quote:

That's the charm of the game. Everyone else is doing their own thing like GTA 3 and you can take it to them or join up in various races with more players. I guess you just like the more groupy interactive races and such in SSX Tricky which was fine as well but too limiting looking back at it.Quote:

I would find it annoying to be always careening down a peak with people in the way, I just want to do my own thing and race when I want more competition or whatever involving more opponents.
It is indeed a beautiful game, I think it has the best snow effects outside the N64 1080 and the animation is great :DQuote:

Hey man, clothing/accessories are just that. I liked the Tricky clothing alot but being able to customize how your boarder looks is much cooler when you can add shades, small bottoms for the girls(hehe), cowboy hats, different pants with tops.Quote:

Its obviously an aesthetic thing which had no bearing in the gameplay but it had no actual meaning in Tricky other than trying getting a shiny looking suit at the end. Also regarding meaning, you have to buy the clothes, music, ubers, and attributes with the money system so that definite solves the problem you had with it. Its just a different system than earning them with only races and I think it makes it deeper in a good way and extends replay value quite a bit.
The character attributes are where its at. The boards in Tricky increased your stats as you got better ones but in SSX3 all you have to do is max out your characters to move faster and gain more uber tricks.
Thats very true and I really liked all of that but there's only so much you can do with it after seeing it for a bunch of times. I think SSX3 definitely could have used that if they had the same level of voicework in it but again the gameplay is what supposed to keep you coming back.Quote:

I was quite shocked that you hated it so seeing that reaction disconcerted me but I say stick with it until Peak 2 or 3 as more things become apparant and available.Quote:

Heh, I'm reminded by what dog$ said about one person saying game sucks and the other saying give it a chance but no matter what the person saying it sucks will keep his firm opinion.
Got it today, and this game simply rules. My take on the characters/talking/interaction "complaint". Who gives a fuck? It was the same lines after each race that you (or at least I) skipped after the first two times. Having them talk while going down the mountain is fine with me, it achieves the same thing and it doesn't waste any time having a small movie at the end of a race. As for the skins, I remember more than a few of the Tricky characters (like the women characters) had some shitty costumes there were actually nothing more than skins. Buying new gear is fun, buy what you like and customize as you see fit. There is much more flexibility in upgrading your character now (you can raise each attribute in small amounts).
And this is one hell of a good looking game. The quality in animation between this and Tricky is actually really big. Tricky looks and feels much more stiff than this. With the new snow and character animation it looks like your actually riding on and through snow instead of a white texture like Tricky. I just got the pass for Peak 2 and I'm already impressed. The sound and music just match the graphics, it's a whole package of awesome game making. I can't see how anyone could think this game is rushed. The way the courses are layed out is just fantastic and even the parts between events are fun. I could care less about a "making of" documentary. You watch it once or twice and that's it. I'd rather have a huge mountain to ride down through. That's another thing I like, as much as Tricky gave you freedom, SSX 3 feels much more open. It doesn't feel like your on a single track forced to go down one or two paths, it feels like you can go anywhere you want. Oh and I gotta hand it to the programmers, the load times are almost non existent. Makes the game that much more enjoyable.
The menu system seems weird at first but after an hour I think it's easy to navigate. Jumping around the peak is really easy too. They thought of everything.
I hate your guts, Kidnemo. :p
I find it extremely funny that no one but Will cared to comment about my observation that I was probably being way to hard on the game. Sl1p, that comment you made about people finding something to complain about for everything just because this is TNL seems all that much more ironic.
OMG AN OPINION THAT IS NOT MY OWN! LET ME CALL HIM HARDCORE AND BELITTLE HIS ISSUES SO MY OPINION LOOKS BETTER!!! OMG!!!
I also find it silly and superficial that not a damn one of you commented on the good things I had to say about it. I guess "that's what happens here at TNL."
Jackasses.
Turns out it isn't half bad. After I got over the sillyness of most of my complaints I was actually able to bear down on what really mattered. The tricking system is great, though I haven't quite got the hang of board pressing yet. It will be mine. Oh, yes. It will be mine.
All the singles events aren't so bad, especially since you can just concentrate on the mountain and exploring it. It's nice just riding along, tricking if you want, not tricking if you don't want. Finding the best run through for tricking is probably my most favorite, though. Finding by way of what path you're able to get the highest score, and then screaming down the mountain doing your best to stick to the mental map you made. It's cool.
I really did mean what I said about the snow. It's gorgious.
The accessorising is still meh. I'll buy a few, but the real drive for me is to totally own the mountain. I could give a damn how I look when I do it.
I like the fact that I need to spend cash for upping my stats. I don't, however, like the fact that everyone has the same ceilings for all of the stats. It's a really unimportant detail, and I could look over it if I wanted, but I'm not going to. Everyone who has a problem with this can suck my nuts in advance.
So, there you have it. Better than Tricky? Sure, why not. Besides, if I don't agree with all of you I'm likely to be talked into submission anyway.
Also, I do record Mountain Dew commercials. What's so wrong about that?
Yeah, I know. I agree with you 100%, in spite of my initial impressions. It must have been "The Grump." :pQuote:

You forget CV, that your opinion is wrong when you're not with the general consensus.
The people who think this game is perfect and can't handle negative criticism are what cracks me up. You'd think they actually worked on the game, or something, and I'd hate to meet some of these people in real life.
Next time you all manage to bring up even the slightest detail that's wrong with a game I enjoy, I'll be sure to jump down your throats and tell you how wrong you are.
Some of us enjoyed when the characters actually had character, and there's still no excuse for the skin thing. Either make them characters, or leave them out.
All in all, I'd still say this game is a 9 out of 10, but I'll doubt this part will make it into anyone's reply.
It's a lot better than Tricky, that's all I wanted and that's what I got. If someone finds faults in it, it's no hair off my ass. Vegetables first post was just weird, he had some complaints that as he found out, weren't a real problem, he just need to take some time off (a long day as he said) and give it another whirl. Sounds like he likes it more now. If some people have a problem with the characters...hey if you don't like 'em what are ya going to do? I don't have a problem with 'em so that's not something I'll dwell on.
Noface: Those bars...do something. Heh. I'm not sure. But the first bar (with the 1 over it) is your current outfit. The second one is if you make the changes you have selected. No idea what it effects though.
As for the accessories, I find myself breaking it up like this. For every $10,000 I earn I probably put $7,000 towards stats and $3,000 towards other stuff.
This is about right, i just got it, the local eb(despite all my bitching, i went back..and now they are selling vj for 39.99 God is playing pranks on me now) i am liking it, psymon is not quite as insane anymore with all the comments..i want to have an epiphany and call ufos to come take me now, but the overall presentation is enjoyable, i need to learn some of the courses, but for me this game looks so good, its a whole different gaming generation than tricky..ees good. And as the vegg said, the snow is very, very nice. I oddly enough got the box version, since the gc version was sold out,and i didnt want to lug my 3 trade in games back to the car again, so box version get.Quote:

Well what I did usually was push down the right joystick at the same time as the X button but I then found out that you don't have to do both at the same time with the help of that pie-chart'ish combo meter. I was releived to have much more time to string together combos which rules.Quote:

I got to Peak 3 but I only did like 2/5 of the stuff in Peak 2. This one's gonna last a while :)
Still wrong. The two bars are actually polygon counts, and when bar 2 is filled, you can't add anything to your character, because it'll have too many polygons and slow the game down.Quote:

I'm looking in it now, can't find anything on the goddamn bar.
Maybe we should e-mail EA about this phenomena.
Yup.
Someone figured it out on Gamefaqs, I believe, and EA confirmed it. Basacially, you can only put so much stuff on your character so your character dosen't slow down the game, from having too many polygons.Quote:

Okay, finally got this game. Seems really good, although I'm really sucky now, not having played anything since the original SSX on PS2.
Some questions...why is the turbo button also a grab button? If I'm turboing along and get a little air, I try to grab and biff it. Also, is there a way to quickly get to the lodge? I don't really appreciate having to board down from the top of the mountain to get to it anytime I want to buy stuff.
Otherwise, seems great. The sound is sweet in Xbox's 5.1 SS, and while not mind-blowing, the graphics are pretty nice. Besides what I mentioned, my only complaint is the insane amount of controls I end up using during certain tricks...pretty much every button on the controller, all in weird combinations...the game has a really steep learning curve, but, I think I'm getting the hang of it again.
To get to the lodge, just go to Transport in the menu, go to Freeride, and pick a station, and it'll drop you right in front of the lodge.Quote:

That turbo/grab button is probably my only gripe with this game (on the Xbox). It's too good to put down.
And thanks for the info on that "polygon bar". That's certainly something new.
I've played both the XBOX and PS2 versions now and must admit, the PS2 is way better, as the controls are perfect (on "pro").
I had a huge problem with that boost/grab button, and the PS2 has no such problem to speak of.
How do you buy new music tracks for the game? I've been to the lodge, and I can do in the music options is switch the type of track play.
You have to go to the 'edit playlist' part of the lodge and you can buy the tracks there.Quote:

Man, I love raceing down the tracks in this game but, in my opinion, the "backwoods" areas suck ass. They're just no fun.
I agree. I think I liked the structured courses in past games a bit better than the open "mountain" in SSX 3. Although, I do like the way it structures the game flow...so, eh. Something different at least.Quote:

That's probably my favorite part. The last track in Tricky was like the backwoods (and the one in 1080). It's fun being able to explore and cut across a mountain side that hasn't been touched.Quote:

When you buy the songs, are there any secret tracks? I think all the ones listed are in the regular playlist rotation. Kinda stupid to have to buy music tracks just to customize the playlist how you want.
Fury: When you go the transport screen, select Freestyle (I think) and when you see a "i" icon over one the map of the drop off points, that's where the lodge is. I think there are 2 on each peak.
I find such joy in running down the backwoods areas that it justifies the cost of purchase. It's like the races and freestyle comptiions are just fluffer.
Best. Snowboarding. Game. Ever.

You'll need a lot of air to do this... it's the rock outcropping that has the icicles hanging down from it. You'll want to trick (I think it wants a 1080 or something) off the jump at the top of that thing. That should do it, hopefully.
But I agree, there are a lot of vague descriptions and you're left with trial and error gameplay, which is usually pretty shitty. It hasn't bothered me too much yet, but I haven't put too much of a focus on the BIG Challenges yet.
Something I'm hoping for is hidden tracks or something later in the game... for all the hugeness of the game, it sometimes feels a bit limited in terms of the actual courses. You get 3 of each Freestyle category (Big Air, Slopestyle, and Superpipe) and that doesn't seem like a whole lot. I also don't like how in multiplayer you can't choose a race course and play for score instead of time... some of those courses (like Metro City) are just as much fun to trick around on as to just race. Just a minor gripe I had today.

Like I said above, I like just cruising around the backwoods and doing the missions within but I don't like racing my rival down it.
Oh, and, who the hell chose a Carson Daily clone as the Radio BIG DJ?
You said it all man, I find myself freeriding alot just for the scenery. One of the most impressive tracks would be the first one, i forget the name of the race, but at one point you're falling over a ledge and into a deep chasm, where theyres large trunks you have to board over, topping it off with mist and smoke from the area. Amazing game, I don't even ask for a create a player, they seemed to have shown it isn't necessary with all the options...Great game.Quote:

The handplant slows you down too much. It's only use is in the halfpipes. I'm glad it's in there though. I'm still figuring out how to do ubers on the rails. It's tough to time everything correctly.
Really is the best snowboarding game ever.
When the uber gauge is powered up, just hit one of the grab buttons. It takes a split second for it to start, and for you to come out of it though, so make sure you're on a long rail before you start.Quote:

Good question.
I've done it maybe half a dozen times, but never with any consistency. I wouldn't be surprised if it said how to in the manual, but I'll be damned if I'll check!
*shakes fist*
Nope not in the manual.
D
i tried for a few minutes, but i get the feeling that there is no reliable way to do it. the handplant works well enough for me.it's also good for getting onto missed rails that are too high for you to simply jump onto. just hold the handplant button as you ride alongside the rail.Quote:

So, has anyone else had the game freeze on them?
PS2 version has been fine aside from a bit frame dropping in heavily populated areas (cities normally), and sometimes a slight chug when new music loads.
Well I got my answer concerning stalls. For anyone else interested (and it didn't seem that many of you were) when you go into a back flip lets say, push the pad in the opposite direction (forward for backflips) to perform a stall.
D
What's the purpose? Just to cancel a trick you might not land?Quote:

Stalling is all about style and netting more points. I think the best bet for landing tricks is always to just remove your hands from the D-pad, and the boarder will try their best to get level as fast as possible.Quote:

Started messing around on Peak 2 today, even though there's plenty left in Peak 1...the courses are just crazy...if they make a comparable leap at Peak 3, color me impressed.
I unlocked Peak 3 today... I'm going back to Peak 2. #3 is a freaking NIGHTMARE. Not bad design, it's just damn hard. I thought Peak 2 was pretty challenging, 3 is just insane for me right now. :\
Yea, the game almost gets to the point where the levels are so challenging I have more fun just messing around on the earlier stages. While my roommates have unlocked Peak 3 on their characters, I'm unlocking stuff slowly with Kaori. I've pretty much done Peak 1 completely save for a few BIG Challenges, and only messed with Peak 2 a little and Peak 3 even less (on their characters).
Snow Jam and R&B are just smooth sailing and a blast to play.
Anyone own the cube version?
I have a coupon for a free 2-day rental. Problem is that I only have my cube handy at the moment. I tried all three quickly last week, and I thought it controlled well. Then I heard that some tricks were removed. How are you finding it?
Should I rent the cube version or the Hulk movie?
Rent the cube version then buy the PS2 version later ;)Quote:

On Xbox, the pro setting puts Turbo on L-trigger, and Jump on R-trigger...while jumping with a trigger is doable, I guess, having to hold L-trigger while boosting is obnoxious.
I'm pretty disappointed they didn't provide a custom controls option, as I could have fixed it on Xbox easily enough myself.
One grab on each of the four shoulder buttons = KEY TO VICTORY.
XTREME!
And to think I was going to get the XBOX version thanks to EA's awful online play :(Quote:

*Hugs his ps2 copy*
HOTPANTS XD~~~
I have the cube version, and I have no problems with it. It controls just like Tricky and I've never put anytime any of the PS2 versions, so I don't miss an extra grab button. The B button doubles as a tweak button so you can grab with one button and then tweak that grab for more points. I like how the characters "self right" themselves now. Just let go with enough time and they'll spin themselves right side up for a nice landing. I've only had one graphical glitch, my character and board dissappeared near the end of Metro City. No idea why, but I finished the course and it was fine.
I think I'm almost done with all of the races (I'm using Nate). I've only done like 8 challenges though, so I have a lot left. When you unlock stuff for getting metals (like artwork and stuff) where do you access it? I've unlocked a ton of stuff but can't find it.
go to the lodge and look at your character profile, there's a wealth of info in there. You can buy art and stuff also.
Well, that's dumb, they should have just made the Xbox with grabs on the shoulders, and on the b/w buttons, and kept it the same otherwise.Quote:

And then you're left with a better looking game, with much better load times. You're lacking the two player online component, but I think multiplayer kinda sucks in comparison to the full fleshed out single player game anyway.
So don't hate on the Xbox version! ;)
I don't. It's the one I have...I just want customizable controls. Like you said, as you get better, you don't bounce around, and know when to lay off the turbo...still, it causes me some unexpected crashes every now and then.Quote:

When you're flying over lots of small little jumps (or even bumps) I know it's hard not to be boosting and have it turn into a grab and watch your character eat snow afterwards. I won't argue that the PS2 has better control, but I will argue that the Xbox version is the one to have, due to graphics, excellent control (thats harder to master than the PS2 one... not really a good thing but not bad either), and faster load times (by a lot). In the end though, the game is great across the board, so I won't dwell on this anymore. :)
I've maxed out Kaori's stats and got a gold on all of the races with her. Now onto the freestyle stuff (which I don't enjoy as much as the racing but is still fun) and a second character.
There is a shit load of stuff to unlock. Just when you think you've seen it all...Oh and the R&B course on peak 1 has to be one of the best levels ever designed. It's so much fun.
To jump back a few pages, I finally realized that I really am in EGM. Trippy X____X
Gah! New games are starting to cut into my SSX3 time. I slowed my playing down since the big challenges were getting to be a bit much. That one where you have to do certain tricks onto a rail...bah!
Yeah I'm working on that one now, FS 360 rail or something of the sort.
D
i was stuck on that one for a while. do a 360 on the rail (default, hold left on the digital pad. pro, hold up on the left analog stick.) no jumping allowed.
Thx
D
For any of those wondering about transitioning from one pipe to another, specifically on the Peak 3 Superpipe, what you need to do is get huge air towards the end of the middle pipe, and handplant (in the air) onto the back of the two pipes that are off to the sides. There's a little section of railing towards the back of these pipes where it's possible.
Tons of 10,000 point bonuses to be had up there, it's good stuff.
So the one question I have is whether or not using an adapter and a ps2 controller makes it control the same on an xbox as on a ps2.
I was going to pick up the Xbox version until I saw on another forum that playing on the Xbox with a PS2 controller converter isn't the same since the tricks won't be mapped to the shoulder buttons. On top of that, SSX 3 doesn't allow you to configure individual buttons.Quote:

I really wish EA would have put in more real stuff than joke items. Watch out! $50,000 for a paperbag head. :(Quote:

Atleast for Mac.
Well, I've got golds on everything at this point except for the last peak 3 back country race.
What's the highest combo multiplyer you guys have got so far? I did 65ish last night, but I'm sure I could break 100 easy.
