Capcom Looking To Merge?

The Nihon Keizai Shimbun reports that Capcom may be looking to merge with another comapny after its most recent year's earnigns and sales forcasts failed to be met.

Capcom's two biggest games this past fiscal year, Biohazard 0/Resident Evil 0 (GC) and Devil May Cry 2 (PS2), fell short of sales projections by a few hundred-thousand each. Each title sold over one million copies worldwide, but still fell short of projections.

It appears that finacial advisors to Capcom are advising a possible merger soon, due to the lower than projected earnings, as well as Capcom's other reported finaicial woes.

who knows when this will happen, but it's only a matter of time. i wonder with who. who's left? Konami? maybe one of the new merged companies will be willing to expand even more.

i wonder if Capcom would be willing to merge with a first party company. Nintendo and Microsoft seem out of the question if you ask me.
