If I was in your shoes, I'd be all over a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution right now. I dislike anyone driving a pickup truck when they don't use it for hauling things around on a regular basis. But a Hummer? What a waste. You should spend the money on english courses and a new avatar instead.

for the ultimate in security I can sell you a surplus APC for only 10 grand! it can survive direct artillery assaults and gets 2 MPG on diesel!

Nekkid Cammy Avatar Person, please do us all a favor and stay the hell away from SUVs, even if they are the en vogue item right now. I don't know about H2s, but the original Hummer model is notorious for breaking down -- and those things take expensive parts. Yeah, your parents are moneybags, but what happens when you get out of school or whatever and get out on your own? If you still own the H2, you're going to hate paying for the gas and any repairs you'll have to make. And that's if someone doesn't carjack it.

Furthermore, why do you need a SUV? Are you hauling around crap al the time? Or are you just going to try to haul around the girlies? Are you going to try to take that thing offroad? Be wary of those narrow dirt roads with all the sharp tree branches pointing out, your new H2 might get dirty or scratched! If you're not going to be transporting stuff or going offroad, then a SUV is useless.

If you are that concerned about safety, might I suggest a Toyota Camry, Corolla or a Subaru? Check out Subaru's safety record, it's supposedly one of the best -- and the Impreza is a nice car too. Yeah, they're cars, but they're a hell of a lot cheaper than SUVs, they get better gas milage and won't tip over randomly like Ford Exploders.

The Hummer is a losing propositon. Save them some money so they can give you more for games -- you need that 3rd backup Xbox, you don't need a truck that's a money pit.

I cant believe he's whinning about how they wont take him to a dealership so he needs our help! your parents are buing you a fucking NEW car... a NEW car! what the fuck shold you care what you're getting, it's not like you have to buy it... in fact I think this whole thread is disrespectful to those of us who obviously can't get new fucking hummers when we're 16, and I think yo just wanted an excuse to show off your parent money or something...

This discussion is absolutely surreal.

NO ONE should EVER own a Humvee as a first car, especially not on their parent's ticket.

It should be noted, if you want safety, pay more attention to the facts. The Humvee is not safer than a car. Hell, the Humvee doesn't even have regular crash tests. If you want a safe car, get a Volvo (the only cars that consistently get 5 star crash ratings across the board -- SUVs NEVER get 5 stars across the board... especially in those damned rollover ratings).

Can you even handle a Hummer ? I'm SURE you didn't do your driver's lessons in a Mack Truck. That thing is a bitch to drive, is a bitch to handle and a bitch to park. Let's just say, nothing is worse than a teenage kid driving these extra wide vehicles, taking up 2 parking spots and weaving into my lane coz they're not used to keeping the damn "car" in the lane.

Besides, those things are worthless on dates. Nothing kills the mood more than when your date needs a stepladder to get into your car :D
