Ok.. so a crappy publisher (Universal) hires a crappy developer (Vicarious Visions) to do a sequel to a rip-off cart game (CTR) that was done by an entirely different developer (Naughty Dog) while under the control of an entirely different publisher (Sony). On top of that, they chose to conspicuously release pictures of it just a few days after the Mario Kart pics got out.
Who are they trying to kid? More people will likely buy Mario Kart than this clone, especially when the clone is slated for a Q4 release.

As for Crash.. well, my sister has the original Crash Team Racing and I enjoyed playing it with her. It was a solid if unspectacular/unoriginal game. These new screens look so-so... but the game might still be decent. There are reasons to have doubts but I'll withold judgement.

What's wrong with Vicarious Visions? AFAIK, I don't personally own any games they've developed, but I've played several GBA games that they've made (Tony Hawk 2, Tony Hawk 3, and the first Crash game for GBA), and they were all very good. Based on what I've played, I'd guess that the game is in good hands. Yeah, I'd much rather it be back in Naughty Dog's hands, but that's not going to happen anytime soon, if ever.Quote:

I love CTR, also. It's one of my favorite PlayStation games. I hope that Vicarious Visions can reproduce and expand on the depth and fun of that game. It looks good conceptually, but I hope they polish the graphics up a lot more before releasing it.
If this had Internet play, that would be awesome. It's supposed to have LAN play on PlayStation 2 and X-Box, so there might be some way to rig it up to a PC and use a tunnelling protocol to play it online (much like what was done with TimeSplitters 2 on PS2, as well as a few X-Box games). I'd much rather they support "real" online play, though.
CTR was a good Kart game... only thing is Mario Kart 64 was a great game, so I'm looking forward to the new Mario Kart more than this... besides, those models do indeed look just like shit...

With the announcment of this "Crash Nitro Cart" game I am waiting to hear word about another "Crash Bash" :) I surely can't wait for that one.......

I don't know what Crash Team Racing you guys played, but this certainly looks plenty better than the one I played. I don't see how Mario Kart looks any better than this either, I mean yeah, Mario Kart will be a better game I'm sure (at least imo, I liked the MKs more than CTR, though CTR was quite good), but it doesn't exactly look so hot either :p
