Compile's last game gets a platform change

Looks like Aiky has decided to port Compile's much balyhooed puzzle game from it's intended release on Taito G-Net hardware to the Neo Geo MVS. This game was developed by compile after losing the rights to their own Puyo Puyo after their contract with Sega expired. While I haven't played it, Compile was touting it as the deepest and most balanced puzzle game to date, and promised it to revolutionize the genre in the same way Puyo Puyo did 10 years earlier. Lofty goals indeed. Anyway, the platform change will certainly help the installed base. I'm really looking forward to this game.

DC port would be very welcomed.

AFAIK it's still slated for PS2.

But Neo Geo is coolness. It'll Probably even be emulated soon this way.

Ooooo.. I knew not of this game's existence. But Compile + Puzzle has me most interested. :)

I know that it differs from most puzzle games in that you can't set chains off accidentally. You biuld up your hand and them set it off with a detonator. Detonation works like a fuse and you get bigger points (or damage to your opponent or something) for long reactions that travel along alot of blocks. I haven't seen it in motion so I don't really get it yet.

I remember this one from the last GameJam in Japan im 100% sure it was running on a Naomi via a GDrom.

I don't quite get it either... but for some reason I quite like how that sounds. :)

Could be, I thought it was G-Net because Taito was publishing and it was headed to PS2. But regardless it's MVS now.

This makes me think. Zupapa was an older game that was just finally released a few years ago.

This is probably the first, new MVS game done by an established company in a long long while...even if it's just a port. In fact, this might even be the only Compile MVS game. I don't remember them making any other ones.

I'm super fucking pumped for this right here. I can't WAIT to get my hands on a copy.

The only thing that brings me down is, if it kicks as much ass as I'm hoping, we'll never see another release like it for the MVS.

Unless Aiky has some more stuff up thier sleeves.
