Yep I got mine done, I was drugged and when I woke up they gave me a Sprite!
Worse part is the lack of good food while your mouth heals, think lots of applesauce, and pudding, that was the worse part, but they gave me some horse size pain killers that made me have a very nice feeling...
Thank you for posting that Regus.
Got mine out after I had some sort of swelling in my cheek. Hurt like a bitch (it was basically a whole lot of pinching/scratching-type pain, not like you broke an arm or whatever), despite me being on the nitrous, so if you have the choice you may want to get put to sleep.
Tip: Try not to swallow any of the freezing agent they inject into your gums. That stuff makes you feel sick, and you don't wanna be throwing up when you've got tubes and knives and gaping bloody holes in your mouth from teeth that just got pulled. :chick:
So far my top left on is almost done (fully out, but needs to get a little bit more longer to match the others) and the one on the top right is just poking out on one side. So far its goin good, but i want them to get pulled so I can get the drugs, and possibly save them (like someone else said in the other thread) for a good time?
Ditto me. I had mine pulled back in 1999 - all four of them. They gave me choice between numbing my gums or just knocking me out flat for the operation - I choose the latter b/c a classmate of mine told me that the stuff they used to knock you out was fucking wicked! Twas! When they inject the needle that sent the stuff through my veins I started seeing all these pretty yellow insects like bulbs of light flying around in the air - then nothing. I took a nap for the whole surgery, twas great - I was still 'asleep' and under the influence immediatley after the operation so they had to strap me in a wheelchair and have some other guy along with my dad help me into the car.Quote:

Unfortunatley - I must have looked like a fool strapped in the passenger seat of the car - and I can only laugh in retrospect at what the other drivers at the stoplights thought when they saw my unnaturally positioned and drooling face against the window!!! LOL! "Mommy its a retard!" Oh well, fuck em, its not like I could be embarrased about it.
I do slightly remember getting back home and my dad had to help me from the car to the door because the stuff they give you is so powerful that you can't remember how to walk straight until it completely wears off. I slept on the couch for a long time into the night (and the surgery was in the morning) and woke up and immediately spat out alot of blood and rinsed my mouth out with water ALOT. Amazingly though I never felt any noticeable pain... for me wisdom tooth removal was more like an annoyance rather than a painful experience. I couldn't eat real foods for a couple days and had to subside on spoon-whipped ice cream, but I played alot of video games that weekend which was cool.
Depends on how they're growing really. Mine weren't affecting any of my other teeth and only needed to be pulled because they were getting cavities and would be a bitch to fix in the future. So I just got the novocaine and the dentist went it there with a wrench and pulled them out. Not as bad as most people say, but again, it depends on how they're growing and if other teeth/gums are in the way.
Generally, the best time to use painkilling drugs is when your mouth is in constant throbbing pain.Quote:

You people and your wussy gas and anaesthesia...I didn't have anything but novocaine.
I got mine done. The dentist wouldn't give me any options so I didn't even get drugged. Local anaesthetics only... and not enough of it either. He stuck a giant needle in my gums, which hurt plenty plenty much to begin with. But then when he sliced my gums open, that shit still hurt like a mofo. Bah.
Anyway, I only had 2 taken out. It took him 2 1/2 hours to do that as he cut each tooth into 6 pieces and then removed the pieces with pliers.
The worst part of the pain comes when the anaestehtics run out. Dang, that hurt. And a week of eating porridge and noodles.
Still the 2nd most painful experience of my life.
No fun at all, getting them pulled. They do everything short of slap you around while they're pulling your teeth out, too.
It helps to have a girlfriend who will put up with your medicated ass afterwards. :D
Remember: Getting put to sleep is for pussies and homeless pets. Ask for a local anesthetic!
