is there some way Nintendo or somebody could rig a permanent wireless system that used electricity? I would love to see it. Instead of controller ports, smack on rechargers so you just place the controller, eh voila. (or something)

Lucas, was that press thing before or after the Wavebird showed that wireless controllers could actually sell well? MS probably isn't opposed to changing their stance as long as there's money to be had.
The Wavebird kicks ass. I wish other companies would follow suit.

That sounds about right. Going by that, it would appear as if MS simply doesn't care for wireless controllers. Here's to hoping they at least give it a shot for their next system. Maybe not as a primary thing (which wireless probably won't be until power consumpion is minimized), but as an alternative down the road.
well, from the tone they had, they seemed to think they were pretty stupid.Quote:

Well, that's certainly discouraging. But it's their decision to make.
The next generation of consoles will the most interesting to me. The current generation is like the 16 bit era, updating and expanding upon the standards set in the previous era. The 8 and 16 bit era style (2D) died away, there was no chance for a third generation of 2D games to flourish. 3D, however, will have it's shot at an era where graphics will mean less (since it'll have all been done before) and content will the main focus of the gaming. Or something like that :)
I'm just tired of the PS2's blurry and jagged graphics, so the sooner the PS3 hits the better.
I think the next generation is just going to be more of the same 3D stuff... unless there's some sort of hologram technology I've missed lately.
And the Wavebird truly kicks ass. Now my friend and I can play Animal Crossing from her couch, instead of having to sit on footstools in front of the TV. Stupid short GC cables.
This generation differs from the 16-bit one in the 2D to 3D thing in that 2D was more or less perfected then, whereas now with 3D, the same problems that were in the pioneering 3D games still exist.
