I like RollerCoasters, been on a bunch, though I'm not big on the ones that go upside down. Haven't been on one in awhile the Biggest one I've been on is one in Denver. Of course I have also tried Space Mountain in Disney World, it's ok I guess.
The only ride I won't go on are those boat/pirate ships that hold you upside down. I don't think I could do that.
What are you favorite RollerCoasters or rides?
Any funny stories? Anyone ever been sick on one?
I love Rollercoasters.
Its a good thing I live right near Six Flags Great Adventure and Dorney Park.
My top 3 in no particular order
- Hercules/Dorney Park (classic wooden roller coaster, no loops)
- Batman the ride/Six Flags (incredible, but it ends way too fast)
- Medusa/Six Flags (when you ride this thing, it feels like you're up there forever, which is a good thing)
I'm gonna check out the Superman ride at Six Flags this summer.
Roller Coasters kick ass, thought I used to be very afraid of them as a child. I'm pretty lucky because Busch Gardens Williamsberg is like 40 minutes away.
Favorite coasters: Alphengeist, Apollo's Chariot (Fabio meets goose) and the HULK in Florida.
That Hulk coaster is no joke.
Roller Coasters are great. Luckily, I live somewhat close to Cedar Point. Millenium Force = teh ownage.
I can't wait to try the new Dragster one. My Language Arts teacher is a coaster enthusiast, and says it's pretty... different. Only 30 seconds long, but the speed is nothing short of amazing.
I used to hate them, until my wife forced me on one. And I'm not kidding. She physically forced me onto it. I fought the whole way.
Now I love them. Matter fo fact, we'll be camping in New Jersey for a week begining tomorrow and we have a Six Flags trip planned. Superman, here we come!
Ahh those pirate ship rides own. If I can get a seat where it will be getting to the highest part, which is rare since other people take it first, when it gets to the very highest point I just drift forward and just sorta...float...it's awesome.
But the coolest ride I've been on is the Titan in the six flags by Dallas. It's super tall and fast, breaks to a stop halfway through because it'll kill you or something if it just kept gaining speed. There's this double helix thing 3/4 the way through that just tears through your head haha, I went on it twice and got a headache.
That thing owns.

I'm not a fan of rollercoasters that go upside down...YES, i'm a pussy. But i went on one back in August at Seaworld (my cousin had free tickets as her wedding gift, so she needed to use it before they expired). At first, i was shittin in my pants, but after i got off, i wanted to do it again, but like Florida, the rain started pouring like no tomorrow.
Klonoa - you need to get your ass to Knoebels if you like the Hercules :)
It's pretty funny how I got started with roller coasters. I used to be scared shitless of them. Then last summer I just decided, "oh what the hell they aren't going to kill me" and rode my first ever roller coaster - The Phoenix at Knoebels (a wooden roller coaster that is well known nationwide). If you’ve ever ridden it you would know the cars spend as much time off the track as on. I also rode the other wooden coaster there, Twister.
The first steel coaster I’ve ever ridden is another doosey - Steel Force at Dorney Park. I also rode every other coaster at that park that trip, including the new Talon, which is one of those inverted deals.
Go figure. At least now I have a blast at parks now :)

I think rides that simply spin you around really fast are retarded. Maybe cuz they make me sick...I don't know. Either way, they're retarded!
I get motion sickness from just driving, so roller coasters aren't exactly my idea of fun. Plus, the only amusement rides around where I live are so shady, you'd have to have a suicide wish to want to ride one...I swear, they're all operated by stoned-out ex-vet mental clinic escapees.
Yeah, I get motion sick too so I can't really go on any carnival rides -- I think the last time I went on one was back in the mid 90s when I took my then girlfriend to the carnival and went on that gravity wheel thing. I didn't walk straight for about an hour after that. :noob:

I am deathly afraid of roller coasters. I break out in sweats when I go on one. I usually try to avoid them, but sometimes I don't want to be left out. At World of Fun in St. Louis, I went on the Timberwolf, the fastest wooden roller coaster in the world. Yeah I screamed like a little girl on that one. Another one I hate is The Hulk at Universal Studios. Everything is cool until that damn alarm goes off and scares the piss out of me. I don't like Ripsaw Falls either. I will never go on that again.
At Disney World, I did ride all the mountains, but I swear that the comet on Space Mountain nearly hit me in the head. The rock and roller coaster with Aerosmith was actually kind of cool, but I didn't see anything since my eyes were closed the entire time.
Other rides I have trouble with, Spider Man (which is funny since it's just a 3D ride, you never actually rise more than 25 feet off the ground.), Test Track (it's like a car with no seatbelts...), Jurassic Park (a water ride that always scares me), and Dinosaur (at Disney, the end freaks me out). That's about it. I'm such a weiner.

400 ft tall, 0-to-120 in less than 4 seconds.
Top Thrill Dragster
This is one rollercoaster I definately want to ride.
First off, if you like roller coasters you have to go to Cedar Point. My top 3 (all from Cedar Point):
1)Millenium Force
2)Raptor
3)Magnum
Well, went to sixflags last year with wanting to overcome my fear, so I went after all the so-called 'thrill' rides..
- Déjà Vu. Pretty good, although you may leave traumatized for the rest of your life after this one ;). Dunno if that's a good indicator/measurement of 'thrill'.
- Vertical Velocity. Looks real freaky to the observer, but once you're strapped in and it gets going, it's all good (plus, it's too late for regrets :P).
- Raging Bull. This ride is one of my favorites.. It's smooth, fun, and won't leave you 'drained'. My only complaint with it was the restraining system - it's hard to trust given the design.
- Batman. Yeah, Klonoa's right.. Purty incredible; I was pleasantly surprised, but it was short.
That's about it, I think.. So yeah, I love'em, although I'm still bitter with the shear greed I encountered that visit.. Fucking owning everybody on the food and drink. Bottled spring water was like $3.25!?!
/me is going to start being a vendor and sell hot dogs, pretzels, soda, juices, icey's, water for a cost of your arm and leg.
I love roller coasters. and I have no fear of them at all... Six Flags is the place to be...
i love them, i go on them like a sugerhigh'd out 10 year old, most friends will no longer go to parks with me because i get them all good and sick by riding the most violent coaster 10 times in a row. literally i willride all day,and then feelbad that the day is gone because i want to ride more.
I didn't get on a rollercoaster for the first time till I was about 12, and even then I never took the next step. To this day, I will still not get on a rollercoaster that
1. Goes in a loop.
2. Goes upside-down in any way.
3. Goes backwards.
And I still don't feel any need too. Riding the Texas Giant was intense enough as it were :)
i cant get enough of them. if it werent for the high admission cost, semi-long drive, and even longer waits (i can drive from my house to Six Flags and back again while another person waits in line for ONE ride. :bs: ) i would go more often.

I love them.
The closest theme park near me is called Wonderland, and is slowly going out of business. Last time I was there with some friends, we were litterally the only people in the park.
It has the scariest wooden coster. its the tallest in the southern hemisphere (I have a morbid fear of heights). On the way up, you can hear the wires buzzing next to you. Hella freaky.
Also, it is the roughest coaster I've ever been on. I have a scar on my knee from it.
I'd love to do a tour of America or Japan and go on all of the coasters there. Maybe if I win lotto...
I hate any ride where alarms suddenly go off and then animatronic dinosaurs start screaming at me while, for some unknown reason, I am ascending a watery slope that seems to run right through a power plant, only to see the disembodied head of a T-Rex zoom at me as I plummet to the bottom of a pitch black abyss. When I open my eyes I find myself in a peaceful lagoon with a McDonald's fry stand sitting 3 feet away. It can really mess with your sense of reality. :sweat:Quote:

I hate them, my first coaster was Milennium Force at Cedar Point, and then I rode the Jackrabbit at Kennywood, and that was it for me. I can handle rollercoasters with basically no problem, i just dont like them...
I love 'em, who wouldn't...:D ? It's the equivalent of riding a train in the sky, upside-down, swerving left and right. And you gotta love the sounds the track makes when you ride over them. That clackety-clackety noise. I used to go to Coney Island, with all the really old rollercoasters...heh heh, that's where I got rid of my fear of them (not dying the first 30 times on them, I figured that the odds were in my favor:p). Six Flags, the Batman rocks! It does end too quickly...but then when you're on a ride that creates its own sonic boom...how long do you really expect the ride to last? The Medusa is also good, too, just watch your head on those rests...you might dislocate a neckbone with your head bouncing around like a buoy on rough seas. Oh, and finally...those pirate ships bite!! (I'm scared sh*tless of them):sweat:
I HATE rollercoasters. I do love water rides, however. Splish Splash rules.

They're okay, but for the most part standing in line for an hour (or more) just isn't worth it.
Any time we'd go I'd just hang out at the arcades and scam the fly honies.
ill never go on a coaster unless coarsed by a pretty girl. funny, all of my old girlfriends were coaster nuts too.

Personally I love them, though I doubt I'd go on a freefall type coaster. I won't go near any repettive swinging or spinning rides as they make me ill.
I live by Cedar Point, so naturally I go there every summer. I missed out on the last new ride they got, though. The one they built after Millenium Force. Guess I'll ride that and the brand new one in a month or two. This new one is once again the tallest and fastest in the world.

I love all rollercoasters, Can't wait to go on Superman at Six Flags..might go next week. What ride do I hate? Ferris Wheels. They scare the living shit out of me, especially when they stop right at the very top. I hate them with every fiber in my being.

I'm pretty much bored with everything in Six Flags, only because I've been on everything so many times. I am looking foward to trying the new Superman ride.
I loooooove six flags soooo much. we don't have anything out this way. all we have is enchanted village and that's just rides for little kids.

I don't really dig roller coasters, especially if they go upside down or have corkscrews. My fear of heights is quite terrible.
Once a friend of mine talked me into getting on Outer Limits at Kings' Island. It's something to watch the cars take off while you're waiting in line. When my turn came to get on, I nearly shat myself once the car took off! :eek: It was awhile ago, but I remember this ride being pretty vicious. Never again!
The spinning keg ride at Kings' Island had me feeling rather ill. It seemed rather innocuous at first, until the platform started to bank steeply.
I do make it a point to check the arcades out when at CP/KI, and end up spending tons of time there.
I hate them.
A fear of heights does it for me, plus, I always think I'm going to die or some shit on them. Never been on one, and I don't anticipate ever going on one in this lifetime.
