Yoshi, Sony was in the industry before the PSX... Anyways, the SNES' FPS line-up of a whopping one game trounced the Genny's one FPS. Fighting games were usually better on the SNES than on the Genny as well.
I definitely second that notion! Dunno more people aren't singing the praises of this game!Quote:

I really enjoyed the Super Nintendo.
Street Fighter 2, Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island (Mario World 2), Star Fox, TMNT, Turtles in Time, Donkey Kong Country, Super Metroid, and Zelda: A Link to the Past were mind blowing.
Plus Lunar 1 & 2, FF3, FF2, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, The Legend of Gaia. Great system.
Genesis was fun too, but Mario > Sonic for me.
BTW, For those of you who saw my other thread in Sound Off: I made the trade, Super Mario World owns you all.

Are you sure you don't mean Lufia 1 and 2?
Ahh, yes, yes I do. (been awhile)
I love the SNES. It has so many classic games. I'm not going to get into a SNES/Genesis debate except to say that I don't understand why so many people don't see that BOTH systems were and still are fantastic.
I agree. i love them both (though I did own/play/enjoy more Gen games). I don't think people should go into a thread and intentionally post flamebait and on the other hand people shouldn't respond back to obvious baiting because you're not going to suddenly convince the other person that they are wrong. The Genesis vs. SNES debate is an issue that pits brother against brother and will tear this house asunder...or not. But everyone here is going through their 4th or 5th childhoods so theres no point in reasoning things out and things will continue like this ad nauseum.Quote:

Come on now. That's a ridiculous statement.Quote:

Virtua Racing doesn't hold it's own against R.C. Pro Am on the NES, let alone F-Zero or Mario Kart.
I'm not even sure Sonic CD is the best Sonic game let alone the best platformer of all time. The Past/Present/Future time system was a mess in that game.Quote:

Personally, I like both systems, as they both have their share of great games. If I had to pick between the two, I would choose the SNES, because I feel it has a larger amount of essential titles.
It's not an adventure in any way shape or form. Snatcher is an Adventure. Metroid is an action platformer with a heavy focus on exploratrion.Quote:

I spy two Monster World games that could be easily argued as better.Quote:

It's funny because as much as you might want to think Sonic involves running right and jumping occasionally this is more true of Mario than any other platformer. There's actually alot of technique to Sonic.Quote:
Sonic's gameplay bores me now, run through level, rinse, repeat
