Sorry for the confusion. I won't speak on pure RPGs because I don't play them. I never did, and never will. I was trying to classify the Action/RPG and Action/adventure genre since so many poeple have a different opinion of what classifies as what as far as the genre goes.

I wouldn't say sports. The SNES has a great deal of arcade style sports games unlike the genesis(as far as I know). While the standard sports games haven't aged particularly nicely, the arcade style games still hold up pretty well.Quote:

I don't get the Donkey Kong Country hate. Those are very nice platformers. I threw in super donkey kong a few months ago on a whim and ended up playing it for two weeks.

There is only one sports videogame which can be rightfully placed among the best titles in games, and that is NHL '94 for Genesis. One of the best games ever, without a doubt. Even today. And its Genesis. Nothing on SNES even came close. And I mean Im hurting my brain here, but what "arcade-style" sports games are on SNES that are so good?

Combat Sports series(two soccer, two dodgeball), Slam Dunk SD heat up, Baseball simulator 1000, Kunio's baseball and dodgeball, and the Tecmo Super Bowls which appeared on both systems. well, if I can call dodgeball a sport anyways.
Genesis had mutant league games and an update of Kunio's soccer and I don't know what else.
