Given that I have quite a few Saturn games that would be a pain in the ass to replace (PDSaga, Silvergun, XvSF, Cyberbots), I have decided to try to burn backup copies of these games. The trouble is that I cannot seem to get the burnt disks to boot.
I figured that I would do a straight copy and use an import converter (ST-Key, etc) to get them to boot. Alas, to no avail.
Is there any trick to getting Saturn backups to run? I don't wanna risk losing a rare game to a scratch...

I thought the Saturn mod was supposed to be super easy? I never got mine modded. I just use the swap trick, which is super easy and hasn't damaged my launch Saturn any.
Damn Model 2. :( the swap is damn near impossible on my model 2.

that saturn is the easiest mod on earth...no soddering at all...keep in mind you still need an st-key or something to play backed up import titles...
Yeah, it's very, very easy. You'd have to try pretty hard to screw it up.
I managed to play a few backups on my old model 2 a few times with the swap trick. Its a major pain in the ass. Get the modchip. They had been getting hard to find.
You stick the chip into the board, reconnect the ribbon, stick one wire into the power source, and one wire onto the pinned-chip...
I did it without any soldering, just sticky-tack and some electrical tape
and the swap trick kills your Saturn.
