No wonder so many mental cases end up as such- they've wasted their lives learning a fiction-based language rather than partaking in healthy social relationships.
Its sad, really.
The silver lining: At least ONE Trekker is gonna profit with this job. Good for him/her.
i always wanted toput on my resume, where it says what languages you speak, that i speak klingon and elvish. of course with my luck,i woudl get a trekker or tolken fan who calls me on it and conducts the entire interview in said language. what is the elvish word for lotus notes:D?
HOCHHH-SPITOOI~E!
Ok, I'm gonna take the other side for a little bit... not that I'm ever gonna learn Klingon, but certainly, it's just someone's hobby. I mean, is learning a fake language really that bad ?Quote:

Especially on a board like this where we have so many people who have devoted untold amounts of time and money participating in a hobby where everything is just a fantasy recreation of something else. I mean some of us have learned to remember several hundred fighting game characters' moves and combos... which in the end, isn't any more useful than learning Klingon.
Why would these people not learn a useful REAL language.. They can USE in REAL situations...:)
This is why I fucking love this country sometimes. God bless America.
I wonder if they need someone fluent in Esperanto.
Here's a alternative solution. If someone only speaks Klingon grab them by the front of the shirt and smack the shit out of them til they quit.

Furbish is next.
Shit, I always thought that whole language was a big joke... oh well, I dont really give a fuck about Star Trek.
Tell that to the man whose life was saved by the Klingon language. He was traveling in a foreign land whose language he did not know when he suffered a heart attack, but by miraculous chance both he and a local on the scene spoke Klingon, and thus he was able to communicate his need for medical assistance.Quote:
